Eustis: Discover Nature, Lakes, and Culture
Accommodation in Eustis
Along Lake Eustis, parks connect with the Eustis Lake Walk and boating; natural attractions offer a different focus, with hiking trails, habitats, and nature education programs. Markets, festivals, and performances round out the city’s offerings.
Parks and Water in Eustis
Ferran Park is located in downtown Eustis on Lake Eustis. Pendleton Park overlooks the lake and offers easy access to the Eustis Lake Walk. Ferran combines a central location with the lake, while Pendleton offers views and access to the walking path. Boating on Lake Eustis is a major attraction for residents and visitors. The Eustis Aquatic Center offers recreational swimming and a splash pad during the 2026 season.
Natural Areas and Nature Education
Pine Meadows Conservation Area is a 770-acre public property with more than six miles of nature-friendly recreational trails. Hidden Waters Preserve in the Eustis/Mount Dora area has more than three miles of hiking trails. Its hillside forest around the lake provides shelter for migratory birds, including American Redstart, Black-throated Blue Warbler, Wood Thrush, and Great Crested Flycatcher. Lake Norris Conservation Area near Eustis was established to protect an extensive hardwood swamp. Visitors can hike, paddle, and canoe there.
Trout Lake Nature Center offers a different focus: its 230-acre site includes trails, buildings, and exhibits. It also offers public events, activities for children, and nature education programs. If you’re interested in exhibits and programs as well as trails, this center brings nature topics into focus in a different way than the conservation areas do.
Markets, Festivals, and Recurring Events
The Fresh Market at Ferran takes place every Wednesday at Ferran Park. Its noted features include local vendors, live music, and a beautiful view of Lake Eustis. First Friday is a monthly, family-friendly street celebration in Historic Downtown Eustis, with food, vendors, and live music. The weekly market and the monthly celebration differ in both timing and setting.
On the fourth Saturday of each month, about 150 classic cars gather at Ferran Park in downtown Eustis. Georgefest is Florida’s longest-running celebration of George Washington’s birthday and is now the longest continuously running celebration of its kind in the entire United States. If a specific date matters for your trip, check the event dates in advance.
Culture and Local History
Eustis’s Historic Downtown District includes buildings that are more than 100 years old. The State Theatre hosts live performances and community theater productions. Arching Oaks Japanese Arts & Culture Center offers workshops on Japanese arts in Eustis, as well as programs on tea and incense ceremonies. Alongside theater and local history, you’ll also find specific offerings focused on Japanese arts and culture.
The grounds of Clifford House are home to Florida’s only standalone citrus museum. According to visitor information updated May 15, 2026, tours of the Clifford House Museum were unavailable during a management transition. If you’re planning a tour, check before your visit to see whether they are being offered again.
