Rotonda: Golf Courses, Trail and Nature
Accommodation in Rotonda
Golf courses, the Cape Haze Pioneer Trail and natural areas offer different options for planning your trip to Rotonda. If you’re planning a hotel stay, you can first consider whether you’d like to compare golf course profiles, explore a historic railroad corridor or include landscapes in your trip.
Compare golf course profiles
Rotonda Golf & Country Club has five golf courses: The Hills, Long Marsh, The Palms, The Links and Pinemoor. The Hills and The Palms are both 18-hole, par-72 championship courses. The Links Course is an executive-length, par-63 golf course; nine holes are par 3 and nine are par 4. This means Hills and Palms have the same number of holes and par, while The Links has a different par profile. These figures provide a first point of reference if you’d like to compare courses by the numbers.
The course features described also differ. The Hills Course is characterized by numerous strategically placed water hazards. The Palms Course has five sets of tees designed to challenge players of all skill levels. Its final five holes feature six different water hazards and multi-tiered greens. On closer comparison, you’ll find that water hazards are a defining feature of the Hills Course, while the Palms Course also offers five sets of tees and specific features of its closing holes. This lets you consider concrete elements of each course profile alongside the number of holes and par.
For groups, Rotonda Golf & Country Club lists events for 12 or more players, as well as corporate events for up to 144 people. If you’re planning an event of this kind, confirm the booking terms in advance: they may change.
A trail with railroad history
The Cape Haze Pioneer Trail is now about 8.5 miles long and follows a historic corridor of the Charlotte Harbor & Northern Railroad. Its approximate length and historic route offer two different points of reference: the length gives you an idea of the trail’s extent, while the route connects it to the railroad’s past. If you’re interested in hiking, cycling or transportation history, you can include these topics in your trip planning without reducing them to a single aspect.
Nature and landscape
The Long Marsh Course is located in Rotonda West. Its fairways run through 450 acres of natural Florida scrubland. The course is also surrounded by natural bunkers, lakes and marshes that provide habitat for wildlife. Both the golf course and the surrounding landscape features are part of its described profile. Long Marsh therefore offers a different perspective for your selection than the information about the number of holes, par and water hazards at Hills and Palms.
One regional nature destination is Amberjack Environmental Park, a 225-acre conservation area on the southern half of the Cape Haze Peninsula. The natural areas listed there include rare and unique scrublands, pine flatwoods and marshes. The conservation area offers a different landscape from the Long Marsh Course: here, the focus is on the park’s habitats and landscape types, while there, it is on the fairways and natural features around the golf course. Access conditions may change; check them before visiting.
