Culture, Theater, and Spaceflight

The Historic Pritchard House is an example of Queen Anne architecture and was built in 1891. The Historic Emma Parrish Theatre opened to the public on September 21, 1984. The Titusville Playhouse is located in this theater and has two separate performance venues in Downtown Titusville. If you plan to see a show, check the specific venue in advance.

The galleries of the American Space Museum cover Mercury, Gemini, and Apollo; the Shuttle Program; women in spaceflight; uncrewed missions; and the future of spaceflight. The subject matter ranges from specific programs to the people involved and future perspectives. The North Brevard Historical Museum displays historical artifacts, photographs, and written records from the region.

Space View Park honors astronauts and the men and women who helped the United States lead the world in spaceflight. The park is a place to watch rocket launches; whether viewing is possible depends on launch operations and park conditions. The Titusville Veterans Memorial Fishing Pier is also a place to watch rocket launches and provides access to the Indian River Lagoon.

Trails and Natural Areas in Titusville

The Train Like an Astronaut Walking Path runs through Downtown Titusville, Veteran’s Park, and Space View Park. Five signs in historic Downtown mark progress up to one mile. Titusville was recognized as Florida’s second Trail Town on June 27, 2018.

The Enchanted Forest Sanctuary lies on the southern edge of the city. Its Management and Education Center introduces visitors of all ages and abilities to the sanctuary’s distinctive natural features. A naturalist-led hike takes about 45 minutes and covers about one mile of the 4.5-mile trail network. The guided hike is therefore one section of the larger network.

At Fox Lake Sanctuary, a marked, four-mile paddling trail runs from Fox Lake to South Lake. Visitors can also use a seven-mile trail network for hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding. The distances refer to different offerings: the four miles are for the paddling trail, while the seven miles are for the multi-use trail network. The sanctuary includes wet prairie, mesic flatwoods, and oak-saw palmetto scrub.

Wuesthoff Park offers a half-mile nature trail and a boardwalk through wetlands, hardwood hammocks, and upland pine forests. A paved bicycle path runs along half of the park. The trails mentioned therefore differ not only in length: Fox Lake Sanctuary also offers paddling and a multi-use trail network, while Wuesthoff Park combines a nature trail, boardwalk, and bicycle path.
