Lake Almanor Country Club: Golf and Summer Events

Lake Almanor Country Club combines golf and tennis facilities with recreation areas and seasonal events. Three questions are especially relevant for planning: Which activities would you like to include, what access rules apply, and which offerings are tied to a specific date? Offerings include a golf course, seven tennis courts, recurring summer music, and annual events organized by the Almanor Fishing Association. The options vary in scope: some are recreational activities, while others are tied to a season or a specific participant group.

Recreation Areas and Club Rules

Recreation Areas 1 and 2 at Lake Almanor Country Club are open to members, guests, and renters. At the same time, the recreational facilities are private property of the club and are subject to its rules. For short-term and seasonal renters, arrival involves a specific step: upon arrival, they must enter through the Clifford Gate to obtain a temporary paper pass. The access procedure may change, so check the information before arriving. There is also a special requirement for larger groups: reservations for the family BBQ areas must be made at the Lake Almanor Country Club office for groups of 12 or more. If you are planning a gathering there, take this threshold and the specified reservation location into account.

Golf, Tennis, and Recreational Equipment

The Lake Almanor Country Club Golf Course offers nine or 18 holes. The course also has a driving range, a putting green, and a chipping area. In addition to rounds on the course, several separate practice areas are available. Access to tee times and operating schedules may change; check both before visiting. The club also has seven tennis courts. For other recreational activities, equipment can be borrowed from the Tennis Shop, including shuffleboard sets, volleyball equipment, and horseshoes. Equipment availability may change.

Summer Events

Almanor Veterans Fishing Day is organized annually in June by the Almanor Fishing Association for local veterans. The 2026 event program included a boat parade; the afternoon barbecue was scheduled to take place in the Lake Almanor Country Club's Rec 1 picnic area. For future years, confirm the venue with the organizers and check that year's participation requirements.

Another event is the Almanor Fishing Association's annual BBQ fundraiser in July, held at Lake Almanor Country Club. It includes food and auction items; offerings may vary from year to year. Before traveling, check the event date and planned venue. The two association events differ in timing and scope: the June event is for local veterans, while the July barbecue is a fundraiser.

There is also live music in summer at the Rec Area 1 Bandshell. The program recurs seasonally, but specific performers and dates depend on the season. If you would like to plan your trip around a performance, check the dates in advance.

Dining at the Golf Course

Clifford's on the Green serves classic American dishes next to the 9th and 18th holes. Operations may change.
