Kaleücagız brings together coastal scenery, Lycian history and activities on the water. The settlements of Kale and Üçağız lie on the coast of the Kaş-Kekova Specially Protected Environmental Area. Stone houses and narrow streets along the waterfront define Kale Üçağız. The natural harbor is important for maritime and yacht tourism. Visitors can therefore experience historical sites, boat trips and inland trails as different aspects of their stay.

Teimiussa and the Lycian burial sites

Today's settlement of Üçağız lies on the site of the small Lycian port town of Teimiussa. The Teimiussa necropolis is filled with block-stone sarcophagi carved from the bedrock. Numerous burial remains are also part of Üçağız's archaeological landscape. Near the quay are two house-shaped rock tombs. Beside one stands a figure of a young man or child; a Lycian inscription above the entrance names Kluwanimi.

A quay submerged in the water is also part of Teimiussa's (Üçağız's) historical heritage. Small jetties and steps are found among the sarcophagi distributed along the Teimiussa coast. They give visitors access from the sea. The burial sites and the coastline therefore form part of the place's shared historical landscape.

Boat trips and the sunken city

Boat trips to Simena (Kaleköy) and Kekova Island depart from Üçağız. Visitors can also view the sunken city from above on canoe or boat tours; direct diving activities are restricted. These destinations and views of the sunken city offer different focuses for excursions on the water.

Hiking and cycling

The Lycian Way runs from a spot behind the houses of Üçağız along a dirt track to the shipyard, which it reaches after about 2–3 km. Below the settlement, the trail leads back to the coast. From the pebble beach, a narrow path continues toward Andriake. The section to the shipyard can be gauged by its approximate distance; the continuation toward Andriake is characterized mainly by the coastline and the narrow path starting at the pebble beach.

Kale Üçağız also has developed hiking trails where visitors can explore the landscape. Developed cycling routes offer another way to discover it. The Lycian Way and its described route points, along with the hiking and cycling routes, offer different ways to explore the landscape.

Getting there and planning your trip

To get there, a road branches south toward Üçağız from the road between Antalya and Kaş, about 18 km before Kaş. The drive takes approximately half an hour. Visitors can sample Mediterranean cuisine at the restaurants in Kale Üçağız.

If you are looking for hotels in Kaleücagız, you can plan your stay around your own interests: boat trips and coastal heritage offer different experiences from trails explored on foot or by bicycle.
