Göynük: Coast, Dinopark and Canyon
Accommodation in Göynük
As a travel destination, Göynük is shaped by its coast and mountain backdrop. The area is described as a semicircular plain stretching from Beldibi to Kemer. The Beydağları mountains run along its northern side, while Göynük’s beaches lie on the west coast of Antalya Province. The area’s character thus combines its coastal setting with the mountain backdrop to the north. Municipal facilities and Dinopark are located in the area; nearby Göynük Canyon adds another destination in the surrounding area.
Coast and municipal facilities
Göynük’s municipal social facilities include a public beach. They also include Deniz Kafe, a basketball court and a library. An accessible ramp at the public beach has also been renewed. If its current condition is important for your visit, check in advance.
The toilets at Göynük Günübirlik Alan have been renewed. A football pitch at Göynük’s municipal Günübirlik social facilities has also been renovated. If you plan to use the pitch, check its current condition and access in advance; for the toilets, check whether they are currently open.
Dinopark and its surroundings
Dinopark offers a different focus. On a 30-dönüm site in Mediterranean nature, among Aleppo pines and Turkish red pines, life-size, moving dinosaur models are on display. They produce natural dinosaur sounds; their gaze and breathing movements make the figures seem lifelike. The combination of movement, sounds and the setting among the pines defines the character of the park. Events and experiences are aimed at children and adults. If a particular event is important for your trip, check the latest dates in advance.
Trails and nature at Göynük Canyon
Nearby is Göynük Canyon, about four kilometres from Göynük. A stretch of approximately 4.5 kilometres is used for canyon walks and trekking. A significant section of the Lycian Way also passes through the canyon. Natural pools and ponds give visitors the opportunity to cool off. The canyon can be reached on foot from Göynük in about 45 minutes. The final stretch, about 2 to 3 kilometres long, follows a mountain path and can be covered on foot or by bicycle. When planning, distinguish the approximate walking time from Göynük from the length of the final mountain-path section.
As excursion destinations, Dinopark and the canyon offer different experiences: at the park, dinosaur models, sounds and experiences for children and adults shape the visit; at the canyon, walks and trekking, as well as natural pools and ponds, take centre stage.
