Grillby: Rock Carvings, Landscape and Upplandskubb

Grillby’s landscape includes extensive farmland and pastureland. The eastern parts of the town border Lake Mälaren. At the same time, the Grillby area offers historical and everyday points of interest: from rock carvings and a medieval church to regional bread and opportunities to get active. In the centre of Grillby, Upplandskubbkokeriet makes Upplandskubb. The bread has a protected designation of origin and is considered the only one of its kind in Sweden. There is an unattended Kubbomat outside the Upplandskubbkokeriet bakery. Upplandskubb is sold there at weekends; you can collect pre-ordered Upplandskubb on any day of the week. Weekend sales and collection of a pre-order are two different ways to get the bread.

Outdoor Exercise and Practical Local Stops

The Grillby outdoor gym is right by the illuminated path at Skogsvallen. It has various machines and equipment for a full-body workout, with instructions and exercise tips provided for the equipment. The free outdoor gym can be used by people of all ages and fitness levels. If you are visiting specifically to use the equipment, check what is currently available before your visit, as the facilities may change.

The Grillby exercise trails are 2.5 and 1.5 kilometres long, respectively. The lighting for the Grillby exercise trail can be switched on at Skogsvallen or at the end of Kärnvägen by pressing a button. The two trail lengths give you a clear guide for choosing a running route; the outdoor gym, by contrast, offers equipment for a full-body workout, along with instructions and exercise tips.
