Everöd: Aviation, Cultural Heritage and Tallskog
Accommodation in Everöd
When planning a trip to Everöd, you can focus on different things: aviation at Kristianstad Österlen Airport, history surrounding the church and vicarage, or nature and cycling routes. You can decide which of these themes matters most to you by considering the specific attractions and places.
Aviation at Kristianstad Österlen Airport
Skånes Fallskärmsklubb offers tandem skydives and courses in solo skydiving at Kristianstad Österlen Airport in Everöd. These are different formats: a tandem skydive focuses on jumping in tandem, while the courses are dedicated to solo skydiving. If you are planning a jump or a course, check current availability.
Kristianstads Flygklubb is also based at the airport. The club offers pilot training, trips and recreational flights. This means you can find a range of aviation activities at the same airport, from skydiving to training and recreational flights.
For travel by bus, Skånetrafiken routes 3 and 4 stop on Road 19, about 500 metres from the airport building. Check the current route and stop before travelling.
The church and vicarage in the historic village setting
Everöds kyrka was built in the second half of the 12th century from dressed grey stone. The area around the church is part of Everöd-Lyngby, which has been assessed as a particularly valuable cultural environment in the Cultural Environment Programme for Skåne (Kulturmiljöprogram för Skåne). In the church village, the church and Everöds prästgård are close to each other; this arrangement reflects an older tradition that probably dates back to the Middle Ages.
Everöds prästgård consists of a red-brick residential wing and half-timbered outbuildings. Together, they form a unified ensemble shaped by the early 19th century. The building history of the vicarage and the church’s medieval age thus point to different historical layers.
Written records also provide an early reference: Everöd outside Kristianstad was first mentioned in written sources in 1228, under the name Æwærthe.
Tallskog and cycling routes
The Tallskog pine forest borders Everöd to the north. A network of unmarked paths in the forest is used by local residents for recreation. A nature conservation area with valuable flora, including sand steppe and sand pinks, lies in the southeastern part of Tallskog. The forest and its plant life offer a different focus from the buildings and aviation activities.
Cyclists will also find direct links to Everöd. The Kristianstad–Maglehem cycle route passes through the village and follows a former railway embankment. A 2007 Trafikverket study describes the route as mostly gravel; check the current surface before setting out. The Stora Vattenriketrundan cycling route also passes through Everöd.
