Fjugesta brings together a variety of reasons to stay: exercise on a signposted trail, an outdoor swimming pool, a walking and recreation area, as well as exhibitions and activities at a farm. This makes it easy to plan a visit around your own interests, rather than cramming every activity into one itinerary. When choosing a destination, it helps to consider whether you mainly want to spend time outdoors, swim, experience culture, or visit a farm shop and café.

Walking and exercise

The approximately 4-kilometre-long Hälsans stig was inaugurated in September 2014 and runs along the old railway embankment and through the town centre. There are 12 different activity signs along the route. Each sign features two exercises: one for children and one for adults. The trail thus combines a clearly defined route with several exercise stations.

The outdoor gym in Fjugesta is located next to the exercise trail in Bergaskogen. It is open to everyone year-round and free to use. The equipment includes, among other things, facilities for sit-ups and bodyweight exercises. Unlike Hälsans stig, the gym brings the exercises together in one place; the approximately four-kilometre-long trail, by contrast, passes several signs. If you are choosing between walking and exercising, this is the practical difference between the two options.

Swimming and enjoying the water

Sannabadet is an outdoor swimming pool in Fjugesta with three pools. The heated outdoor pools are suitable for swimming practice and water games; next to the large pool are two 80-metre-long water slides.

Lillåns vattenpark in Fjugesta cleans the river water and also serves as a walking and recreation area. The water park thus combines the practical function of water purification with an opportunity to spend time outdoors. Sannabadet and Lillåns vattenpark have different focuses: one offers swimming practice and water games in heated outdoor pools, while the other combines water purification with opportunities for walking and recreation.

Exhibitions and creating together

The Lekebergs utställningshall in Fjugesta hosts various types of exhibitions with accompanying activities. For a hands-on, creative experience, there is the Äntligen onsdag! gathering at Kyrkans Hus: adults can knit, crochet, make beadwork, paint or sew together. It takes place on Wednesdays; check the date before your trip.

Farm shop and produce

Berga Skafferi at Berga Gård in Fjugesta includes an egg stand, an ice cream and production kitchen, a farm shop and a café. Berga Gård also produces eggs in accordance with KRAV standards and presses linseed oil. The farm shop and café are convenient places to stop during a visit; egg production and linseed oil pressing are part of the farm’s agricultural activities. If you would like to visit Berga Skafferi, check the latest opening and operating details in advance.
