Platja De Gandia: Beaches, Dunes and Leisure
Accommodation in Platja De Gandia
The coast of Platja De Gandia is more than five kilometres long and has fine sand. These differences give you concrete points of reference for choosing the area that suits your travel interests.
Playa Nord: a long sandy beach and leisure activities
Playa Nord stretches for more than three kilometres and covers 300,000 m² of fine sand. It is classified as an urban beach and holds safety, quality and environmental certifications. As certification status can change, check it before your visit if needed.
Playa Nord has accessible walkways, sports areas, lifeguards, police patrols and three bathing areas adapted for people with reduced mobility. Leisure facilities also include volleyball courts, basketball hoops, football goals, a kite-surfing area and children's playgrounds. Leisure areas may change or be maintained seasonally. So, before your trip, check the seasonal availability of the facilities that matter for your visit.
Practical amenities are also part of a beach day: Playa Nord has parasol and sun lounger rentals, as well as beach bars. Sports areas are also available. These amenities give you different options for planning your day without having to commit to a single activity.
Dunes and nature at Playa de l'Auir
At Playa de l'Auir, dune ridges with native vegetation extend for about two kilometres. Raised walkways provide access to the dune area while helping protect the dunes, flora and fauna. This lets you enter the area via the walkways, while preserving the natural surroundings remains part of the access arrangements.
Playa de l'Auir is an authorised and signposted naturist beach. If regulations change, check the authorisation and signage before your visit. This also distinguishes the beach from the leisure and bathing facilities at Playa Nord.
Walks and getting around the Paseo Marítimo
You can walk, run and skate along the Paseo Marítimo; there is a cycle path for cycling. The promenade therefore offers several ways to get around on foot or by bike. You can treat these activities as a separate part of your travel plans, whether your main interest is the beach, sport or the scenery.
There are two tourist information offices on Gandia beach, known as “Faros”. Both are located directly on the Paseo Marítimo. As visitor service locations can change, check their location in advance if you specifically plan to visit one of the offices.
