Torrenostra brings together three specific themes for planning your trip: the beach, nature and history. Playa Torrenostra in Torreblanca marks the northern boundary of El Prat de Cabanes-Torreblanca Natural Park, making it possible to combine a day at the beach with activities that introduce you to the natural environment. The Torre de Guaita watchtower also stands right beside the beach. If you’re looking for a hotel, you can decide whether the coast, nature experiences or the historic building should shape your stay.

Playa Torrenostra and the Coast

Playa Torrenostra is an urban beach with plenty of space and calm waters. Facilities include accessible access, a children’s playground, information about sea conditions and a Red Cross station. As facilities may change seasonally, check the latest information in advance if any of these details are important for your visit.

Nature Park and Routes

Route 3 of the nature park is known as the Torrenostra Route. It is a 4.5-kilometre circular route open to the public. Check the local conditions before setting out. By comparison, the Capicorp y el CampĂ s BTT route is longer, at 13.36 kilometres. It is rated very easy and is connected to the Torrenostra information point. This lets you distinguish between the routes by their distance and type; the BTT route is also rated very easy.

Espai Natura in Torrenostra provides visitors to the protected area with tailored information and serves as the interpretation centre for El Prat de Cabanes-Torreblanca Natural Park. The exhibition there explores how the Prat was formed and its great diversity of plant and animal life. Its current status may vary; if you’re planning to visit the exhibition, check in advance whether it will be open during your visit. While the routes offer specific details about the trails, Espai Natura focuses on the protected area and its natural features.

Torre de Guaita: History and Architecture

The Torre de Guaita watchtower stands right beside Playa de Torrenostra. It dates from the 17th century and was used to protect the town from invasions. It is designated a Bien de Interés Cultural (BIC), and was fully restored in 2007. Its former defensive role and its BIC designation represent two different aspects: the tower’s place in the town’s history and its cultural heritage status.

The tower has a square floor plan, with sides measuring 8.70 metres, and stands 9 metres high. Its side length and height are therefore almost equal. This comparison illustrates the building’s proportions and adds a concrete architectural perspective to its historical role. The square floor plan has four equal-length sides.
