Sabadell offers a variety of cultural and scenic attractions for a stay: historic homes and factory buildings, art collections, a walking route in Parc Catalunya and regional products at Mercat Central. If you’re looking for a hotel in Sabadell, you can first consider which of these themes you’d like to shape your stay.

Industrial history in homes and collections

The Museu d'Història de Sabadell is housed in the factory and residence of industrialist Antoni Casanovas, built in 1859. Casa Duran takes visitors back to a much earlier period: built between 1578 and 1606, it was an elegant residence that also served agricultural production. The two buildings represent different historical contexts: one is a 19th-century house with a factory function, the other a residential and agricultural building from the late 16th and early 17th centuries.

The Turull factory and residence also brings workspaces and living quarters together under one roof. Since 1964, it has housed the Museu d'Art de Sabadell. The Buxeda Vell museum area also preserves a semi-fixed, mobile Wolf steam engine dating from 1906. Sabadell thus brings together architectural evidence of working and living alongside a specific item of technical heritage.

Art and life in the countryside

The Museu d'Art de Sabadell explores the history of local art from the 19th century to the present day. Its collection comprises more than 13,000 objects, including paintings, drawings, applied arts, ceramics, photographs and sculptures. The range spans everything from visual artworks to applied forms, while its broad timeframe connects local art history with the present day.

The Museu de la Vida al Camp at Masia Can Deu focuses on something different. Its holdings include an extensive display of old tools, as well as preserved rooms with antique furniture and historical objects. Comparing the different themes of Sabadell’s museums reveals art and industrial history on the one hand, and objects and rooms connected with life in the countryside on the other.

Walking in Parc Catalunya

Parc Catalunya has a suggested circular route that passes through much of the park on foot. It runs from Eix Macià to Font de Can Rull. If you enjoy spending time outdoors, this route adds time in the open air to your exploration of the museums and buildings.

The Ripoll River is economically, socially and culturally important to Sabadell. Its surroundings are shaped by scenic countryside and interesting heritage features.

Regional products at Mercat Central

Mercat Central adds local food trade to the cultural offerings. Its stalls sell regional products, including those offered by farmers from Parc Agrari. You can try Petador and Estrep there.

Historic buildings and museums tell the story of Sabadell’s history and art; Parc Catalunya offers a walk, the Ripoll surroundings combine scenery and heritage, and Mercat Central showcases regional products.
