Roca Llisa offers several distinct points to consider when planning your trip: a 9-hole golf course, coastal scenery around Cala Olivera, and routes on foot and on the water. If you are looking for a hotel, your preferred leisure activities can be a helpful guide when choosing Roca Llisa. The following differences can help you decide whether a round of golf, a visit to the bay or a route is your main focus.

Coast and Bays

Roca Llisa Mar stretches along a coastal area between the small bays of Cala Espart and Cala Olivera and faces south. From Roca Llisa Mar, there are views of the sea and the island of Formentera. A dense pine forest lies behind Cala Olivera, near Roca Llisa. The bay’s sandy beach is about 30 metres long and about 10 metres wide. The clear, deep emerald-green waters invite you to explore the seabed with a snorkelling mask. There are no on-site services at Cala Olivera; take this into account when planning your visit.

Nine-Hole Golf

The 9-hole golf course in Roca Llisa opened in 1972 as the course of the now-defunct Club de Roca Llisa. It is considered suitable for beginners and experienced players alike. The layout differs between the two sections: the first four holes have bunkers and trees, while the last five have several lakes. Thanks to the terrain, the course can be played comfortably in about two hours; this approximate duration provides a practical guide for planning your day.

Routes on Foot and on the Water

The routes also differ in activity and layout. The Camí de sa Roca Llisa is a public path in Santa Eulària des Riu. The Camí de Cala Espart, a public path in the Sa Marina de Jesús area, is near Roca Llisa. Hiking Route 10 also runs nearby, from Jesús through Cala Espart. Kayak Route 16 runs from Talamanca to Cala Olivera, passing Cala Espart at the foot of the Roca Llisa holiday complex. Cala Espart is therefore part of the hiking route and a section of the kayak route; travelling on foot and on the water differ both in how you get around and in their endpoints. Conditions on the Camí de Cala Espart and details of public access may change. Before setting out, check the local conditions and access details for the route in question.

The difference between golf and the bay is also reflected in how you prepare: for a round of golf, the main consideration is the approximate playing time, while Cala Olivera—with its beach dimensions, the opportunity to explore the seabed and the lack of services—offers a different setting. When comparing routes, their different starting points and modes of travel can help, for example, when choosing between the hike from Jesús and the kayak trip from Talamanca.
