For a trip to Molle, you can consider regional history, wine and municipal green spaces as distinct interests. The wineries, Parque del Niño and a museum visit are in the district; the Cerro Baúl archaeological monumental zone is part of the wider travel area. When choosing a hotel, you can weigh up whether you prefer a cultural focus, a wine tasting or a visit to recreational facilities.

Wine and history in the district

At Bodega El Mocho, visitors can sample wines and piscos in a rural setting and enjoy the natural surroundings of the property. Visits are possible only with prior authorization and arrangements; confirm the current arrangements before your visit. The winery was formalized in 1997 and received its name at that time. Don Tomás Salas Alarcón and Doña Susana Juárez Salas had begun cultivating 60 Quebranta and 60 Italia grapevines in 1990. The following year brought the first harvest and the estate’s first wine.

Parque del Niño and natural heritage

A municipal report dated February 29, 2024, describes Parque del Niño in Estuquiña as covering 850 square meters, with green spaces and recreational facilities. The report also notes that four play areas were renovated: a bounce mat, a themed octopus swing, themed ship slides, and a family photo area with four sculptures of characters from the film Madagascar. Since facilities can change, check their condition before your visit.

A municipal report dated November 13, 2024, describes the “Molle Centenario de Estuquiña” as the first tree to be recognized as a heritage tree at the national level, and as a natural heritage site of Moquegua. The tree adds a distinctive form of natural heritage to the district’s historical and landscape themes.

Cultural heritage and getting around

In the wider travel area, the Cerro Baúl archaeological monumental zone was declared a Cultural Heritage of the Nation by National Directorate Resolution No. 1133/INC.
