Llico can be viewed from three perspectives when planning a trip: coastal landscapes, activities on the water, and local traditions. There are also places that draw your attention to the lake or to preserved structural remains. When looking for a hotel, it helps to first decide what you want from your trip: Would you like to make the beach landscape your focus, plan water sports and recreational fishing, or schedule your trip around the San Pedro procession?

Coastal Landscape and Borde Costero

A long stretch of gray sandy beach with large dunes lies at the mouth of Lago Vichuquén. Caleta Llico is a seaside resort with long black sand beaches and rugged cliffs covered in wild vegetation. The area therefore offers contrasting coastal scenery: gray sand with dunes, and long black beaches with vegetated cliffs. These features can help you decide what kind of landscape to focus on if the coast plays an important role in your choice of destination.

The official 2026 project completion report lists parking areas, continuous pedestrian promenades, and ramps to the beach for the Borde Costero Llico coastal area.

Activities on the Water

The waters of Caleta Llico are suitable for windsurfing, surfing, funboarding, and recreational fishing. When planning your trip, you can group these options by interest: windsurfing, surfing, and funboarding are available alongside recreational fishing as ways to enjoy the waters. If you want to focus on water sports or fishing, these activities provide a concrete starting point for choosing the focus of your trip.

Procession and Special Places

Every year on June 29, the fishermen of Caleta Llico celebrate the San Pedro procession. It goes from the lagoon to the cove, includes a Mass, and ends with a reception for the public. The event thus combines a procession between the lagoon and the cove with a Mass and a public closing celebration. If you plan to travel to Llico for the procession, check the dates and specific arrangements in advance; the annual celebration is established, but current arrangements may vary.

The Mirador Camino Real de Llico was designed to offer a view of the lake and surrounding natural landscape. The municipality announced its opening in June 2026. If you want to include the viewpoint in your travel plans, check current access conditions before visiting.

Today, only a few piles and beams remain of the Antiguo Muelle de Llico. These places therefore offer different perspectives: the Mirador focuses on views of the lake and natural landscape, while the Antiguo Muelle centers on its surviving remains. Together with the beach, dunes, and cliffs, they add a viewpoint and a preserved structure to the area's landscape attractions.

When staying in the area for the procession, it is especially worthwhile to check the latest arrangements before your trip.
