Discover Rosario
Accommodation in Rosario
Rosario brings together several distinct interests for a stay: a free beach, routes for outdoor exercise, natural history and sports history, and a national monument with a specific historical connection. If you’re looking for a hotel in Rosario, these highlights can help you sort out your travel interests in advance. This makes it easier to decide whether your plans should focus on the beach, exercise, nature or history.
Beach and waterfront routes
Rambla Catalunya is a free-access beach that stretches for more than 600 metres. As a beach destination, it differs from Costa Nueva, a continuous waterfront route for walking, cycling and skating. If you’re sorting out your travel interests, these offer two distinct outdoor options: the beach or exercise along a waterfront route.
Costa Nueva has wide paths, landscaped green spaces, LED lighting, benches and bicycle racks. The route is also accessible to people with reduced mobility. It therefore combines the aforementioned ways of getting around with practical amenities. Calle Recreativa works differently: it offers exercise on designated routes on a specific day of the week.
Sunday exercise
Every Sunday from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Calle Recreativa offers 35 kilometres of routes for walking, running, cycling, skateboarding and inline skating. The routes are closed to cars, motorcycles and public transport. Families can also take part freely, whether on foot, running or using non-motorised transport. Unlike the continuous Costa Nueva route, Sunday and the time window are important planning considerations here. Check the times again before your visit, as the schedule may change.
History and sports culture
The Monumento Histórico Nacional a la Bandera stands at the spot where General Manuel Belgrano first raised the national flag on 27 February 1812. The Monumento Nacional a la Bandera was inaugurated on 20 June 1957. The dates mark distinct milestones: the flag was raised at this location in 1812, and the monument was inaugurated in 1957.
The Museo del Deporte Santafesino focuses on the sports history of Santa Fe province. Its themed areas cover individual sports; there is also a space for temporary exhibitions, a conference room and a terrace for cultural activities. Together with the national monument, it highlights a difference in cultural focus: the monument centres on a specific event involving the national flag, while the museum explores the sports history of a province.
Nature and leisure
The Acuario del Río Paraná showcases the biodiversity of the Paraná Delta through a native plant park, a modern research centre and ten large aquariums. One-hour tours focus on the Paraná ecosystem, the aquarium hall and the native botanical garden. The tour thus combines a natural history perspective with specific topics relating to aquariums and plants; Rosario’s routes, by contrast, offer opportunities for walking, cycling and skating.
During the day, visitors can take pedal-boat rides on the lake at Parque de la Independencia. This offers a different focus from the routes: instead of travelling on foot, by bicycle or on skates, the emphasis here is on a pedal-boat ride.
