Nature, activities and yerba mate
Nature and yerba mate offer different ways to plan a trip to Andrecito. Tourism development in Andresito focuses primarily on ecotourism and birdwatching. Canoeing, especially on the Río Iguazú, is also considered an interesting tourist attraction there. Other options include jungle walks and the cultivation and industrial processing of yerba mate. You can decide whether nature watching, water activities, hiking or mate culture should shape your stay.
There are numerous trails for jungle walks in public and private parks and reserves within the municipality of Andresito. One specific nature destination is Yvytu: this private nature reserve covers 31 hectares and is located in the town of Andresito. In September 2016, it was designated a private protected area (APP) by Decree No. 1185 of the Misiones Ministry of the Environment. The reserve protects restored native flora and fauna and is considered a place for nature experiences and birdwatching.
Fiesta and yerba mate
The Fiesta Provincial del Agricultor in Andresito was established in 1983 to celebrate rural work. Thousands of people attend the festival every September. The program includes exhibitions, livestock auctions, local cuisine and artistic performances. If you want to plan your trip around the Fiesta, September is the key time; you can check the specific event dates in advance.
Yerba mate is also a travel theme in its own right: its cultivation and industrial processing are considered interesting tourist attractions in Andresito. The Andresito Experience tourism offering comes from the Cooperativa de Turismo y Trabajo Kaá, together with the Ruta Internacional de la Yerba Mate and with support from the Cooperativa Yerbatera Andresito Ltda. It combines tours and stays focused on the origins and present-day development of yerba mate, as well as its cultural, productive and industrial aspects.

In the Departamento General Manuel Belgrano
The broader destination of Departamento General Manuel Belgrano offers a distinct regional perspective on nature reserves. Parque Provincial Urugua-í was established on October 5, 1990, by Provincial Law No. 2,794. Its purpose is to protect the ecosystem in the Urugua-í stream basin and offset the negative effects of the Urugua-í reservoir downstream.
At the Uruzu ranger station on Ruta Provincial No. 19, there is a visitor center, trails and a campground; park rangers are also on site. A ranger station on Ruta Nacional No. 101 has a small camping area and fire pits. It is located about 20 kilometers from the turnoff to Ruta Provincial No. 19 in the direction of San Antonio.
The Alto Iguazú protected area includes well-preserved native forest with palm trees and tree ferns. It is also a strategic connection point between Parque Nacional Iguazú and Parque Provincial Yacuy. These protected areas and visitor sites form part of the regional context of Departamento General Manuel Belgrano.
