The hotel has a 14-hectare park designed by Carlos Thays and activities for guests. In the region, the Esteros del Iberá, Portal Cambyretá and Apipé Grande are among the natural attractions. When making your choice, it is therefore helpful to distinguish between hotel activities and other regional destinations.

Road orientation: Ruta Provincial 41

Ruta Provincial 41 runs for 85 kilometers from Puerto Valle, at its junction with Ruta 12, to its junction with Ruta 37 near the hamlet of Galarza, close to Carlos Pellegrini. The route provides a sense of direction for planning your trip. Since road conditions can change, check the latest information before setting out.

The hotel’s park, lagoon and activities

The 14-hectare park at Puerto Valle Hotel de Esteros was designed by the landscape architecture firm Carlos Thays. The Puerto Valle estate is also home to Laguna Tabé, also known as Valle. Its wildlife includes caimans, pampas deer and capybaras; dozens of bird species can also be observed there.

The hotel offers guests a guided exploration of the biodiversity of Laguna Valle in 4×4 vehicles via exclusive access. This offering is reserved exclusively for guests with a confirmed reservation. The hotel also offers activities on the Río Paraná with bilingual guides, likewise reserved exclusively for hotel guests. The two offerings differ in focus: a guided exploration of the lagoon area by off-road vehicle, and activities on the river.

Other natural destinations in Ituzaingó Department

The wider Ituzaingó Department offers other landscapes to explore. In Ituzaingó, the Río Paraná has 25 kilometers of fine-sand beaches with clear water. The municipality of Ituzaingó also provides access to the Esteros del Iberá, a wetland with rich biodiversity that is internationally recognized for its ecological value.

The department’s natural attractions also include Portal Norte Cambyretá. Wildlife can be observed there, including from a vehicle. Waterbirds include storks, roseate spoonbills and herons. These opportunities to observe wildlife complement the lagoon experience at Puerto Valle with another natural area in the region.

Apipé Grande encompasses extensive natural areas with sandy beaches, lagoons, gallery forests and grasslands, as well as rich biodiversity. Birdwatching and interpretive hikes are offered on the island; check the local arrangements before your trip. Arts and crafts, regional cuisine and island customs also reflect the area’s cultural traditions.

Culture and history in Ituzaingó

The Museo Antropológico de Ituzaingó was founded in 2005 to preserve, exhibit and promote representative elements of earlier cultures. It has six exhibition rooms. The first covers topics including toponymy, zoogeography and phytogeography, as well as pre-colonial mapping and the Guaraní geographic region; it also displays japepo vessels used to store and preserve food. The second room contains Guaraní lithic material from excavations in the Yacyretá area of Ituzaingó Department.

The Museo Histórico Gobernador Manuel Ignacio Lagraña illustrates urban life, development and the institutional history of Ituzaingó up to the installation of the Yacyretá Dam. The patron saint festival in honor of San Juan Bautista offers another perspective on local culture: celebrations begin every year on June 15 with the Rezo de la Aurora and the novena. On June 24, a procession through the city streets with the image of the saint is followed by a Mass attended by the bishop.
