La Primavera–La Merced and Las Piedras Lisas
The La Primavera–La Merced complex includes the former main house of Estancia Tanti, once known as La Bella Vista. Estancia La Bella Vista is considered a former Tanti estate, which Juan de Liendo organized in 1695. On April 26, 1897, the property in Tanti Nuevo was sold to the Third Order Sisters of Saint Joseph as a retreat house.
The former estate was divided into an eastern and a western section. The eastern section was named La Merced, while the western section retained the name La Primavera. A rock shelter and stone-carved coanas remain on the La Merced grounds. Las Piedras Lisas, the wide, rocky bed of the Río Tanti, is beside the grounds. This brings the former estate and a striking landscape feature together in a small area.
According to some accounts, the former Tanti estate was a stop on the old road between Córdoba and San Juan. This is part of the area's recorded history.
