If you’re looking for a hotel in General Belgrano, you can start by choosing the focus of your trip. Local attractions range from town history and relaxation by the water to nature and handcrafted products. A historic building, a riverfront promenade and a nature reserve represent different ways to experience the destination. These differences can help you define your travel interests more clearly.

Town history in two buildings

The former “El Cañón” bakery was converted into the Alfredo E. Mulgura Municipal Historical Museum starting in 1997. The old building, erected by the Sociedad Española in 1928, now serves as the town’s Cine-Teatro. The two examples have different points of emphasis: “El Cañón” represents the conversion of a former business, while the other building is notable for its construction year, 1928, its builder and its current function as a Cine-Teatro. This makes it possible to distinguish between a building put to a new use and one with a specified construction date as two different historical points of reference.

Riverfront promenade and relaxation by the water

The Río Salado riverfront promenade is 5 kilometres long and runs from the CEF canoe school to Balneario Norte. Its length and two endpoints provide a specific framework if you include the riverfront in your travel plans.

Balneario Nuevo offers a different focus: families can spend a whole day in this recreational area, enjoying nature and nautical activities or relaxing by the river. In contrast to the promenade’s endpoints, this is about a possible full-day stay and different ways to spend time by the river. The names refer to different places: Balneario Norte is one endpoint of the promenade, while Balneario Nuevo is the recreational area.

Another water-related option is the private Termas del Salado thermal park in General Belgrano. Its water is highly mineralised. These waterside attractions can be distinguished by their focus: the promenade is defined by its length and endpoints, Balneario Nuevo by relaxation and nautical activities, and Termas del Salado by the mineral content of its water.

Nature and handicrafts

Bosque Encantado Nature Reserve covers 23 hectares. This figure gives the nature theme a specific scale and distinguishes it from the buildings and water-based activities. If nature is a priority on your trip, the reserve is a clearly identified point of reference.

In Parque Recreativo La Isleña, a handicraft area is located in the tourist riverfront zone. There, craftspeople, producers and entrepreneurs offer products they have made themselves. The area therefore combines handicrafts with other types of vendors, rather than focusing exclusively on craftspeople. For your travel plans, it complements the town’s architectural history, waterside recreation and nature reserve with a focus on products for sale. Unlike Bosque Encantado, the emphasis here is not on the size of a natural area, but on products made by a range of vendors.
