Pęciszewko: Cycling Loop and St. James Way Stage
Accommodation in Pęciszewko
A 23 km cycling loop runs through the village; a stage of the Pomorska Droga św. Jakuba also passes at the level of the settlement. If you are looking for a hotel for your stay, consider whether cycling or hiking will be the focus of your trip. This gives your choice of destination a concrete connection to your plans.
Cycling loop and hiking stage
The 23 km Pętla Szlakiem Cystersów cycling loop runs through Pęciszewko. Its total length gives you a concrete starting point when factoring the ride into your travel plans. Its loop format makes it a cycling outing in its own right; Pęciszewko lies along its route. Check current route conditions before setting off.
On the Darłowo–Iwięcino stage of the Pomorska Droga św. Jakuba, the route passes at the level of the Pęciszewko settlement. There, hikers turn right off the paved road and head west along a surfaced road. The stage name, the change from a paved road to a surfaced road, and the direction help you identify this section. The route orientation here refers to its course at the level of the settlement.
For your planning, the two routes offer different points of reference: the cycling loop has a stated total length of 23 km, while for the hiking stage, the stage name, turn-off, and westward direction are key. This allows you to consider the loop ride and the section of a hiking stage as different outings. Check current route conditions before setting off and choose the activity that suits your travel plans.
A completed recreational infrastructure project
The project to create recreational infrastructure in Pęciszewko was completed in 2022. It received support from RPO WZ 2014–2020 under Measure 9.3 to promote structural revitalisation. Thus, a recreational infrastructure project with a defined timeframe also forms part of the local background.
The planned scope included revitalising the park, restoring a tree-lined avenue, creating park paths, and planting low-growing vegetation. Creating a defined herb garden area was also planned. The plans thus covered various elements of park design: paths, planting, and a dedicated area for herbs. The park paths were part of the planned project scope; the surfaced road, by contrast, is part of the hiking stage at the level of the settlement.
A shelter, tables, benches, and bicycle racks were planned for a rest area. The plans also included ten parking spaces and resurfacing the access road to them. Taken together, these elements show the broad scope of the project: park design, a place to rest, and parking spaces were all part of the same project. The project history and route descriptions give you two different perspectives on Pęciszewko: one on the planned recreational infrastructure and the other on choosing a route.
