If you are looking for a hotel in Sianow, you can plan your trip around the town’s cycling and cultural attractions. The routes differ in length, course and connection to Sianow: one starts and ends in the town, another runs from Skwierzynka to Sianow, and eight forest cycling routes start on a street in the town. You can first decide whether cycling or town history should be the focus of your trip.

Cycling in and from Sianow

The 44.5 km “Sianowska Kraina w Kratkę” cycling route starts and ends in Sianow. It runs through Węgorzewo, Szczeglino, Sowno, Przytok, Sieciemin, Karnieszewice and Skibno. The route is marked in red. It connects the town with several localities along a longer route, providing a clear starting point for your planning if you are considering a more extensive cycling tour.

Along the route are localities with preserved historic half-timbered houses, farm buildings and churches. This means the route offers a cultural dimension as well as cycling: the different types of buildings contribute to the character of the places it passes through. If you are interested in historic architectural styles, you can also include this route in your trip planning with that in mind.

Another connection is the 7.1 km “Bezpiecznie do Sianowa” cycling route. It runs from Skwierzynka via Kędzierzyn to Sianow. It gives residents of Koszalin a safe way to travel to Sianow and access to the cycling routes that start there. In comparison, this shorter connection into town contrasts with the longer route that starts and ends in Sianow.

In addition, eight forest cycling routes in the Sianów municipality start on Mickiewicza Street in Sianow. This shared starting point provides a practical reference when planning these routes. Check local trail conditions and signage before setting out.

Hiking Trail and Town History

The Pomeranian Way of St. James also passes through Sianow. The route runs from Kłos through Sianow, Skibno, Skibienko, Sucha Koszalińska, Kleszcze, Osieki, Rzepkowo and Iwięcino to Bielkowo. Sianow is therefore part of a longer route. If you include the Way of St. James in your plans, check the local waymarking before your hike.

A key reference point in the town’s history is Sianow Town Hall. It was built in 1879 with a tower and a clock. The construction date places it in the late 19th century; the tower and clock are two clearly identifiable features of the building.

Another architectural detail stands along the route from today’s Armii-Polskiej Street to Sianow’s historic school: an eclectic brick gate still stands there. “Eclectic” describes a design that draws on and combines elements from different styles. Unlike the town hall, which stands out for its construction date and clock tower, the gate’s historical significance lies in its location on the way to the school and in its design. Sianow’s cultural character thus includes both a town hall with a known construction date and a preserved gate with a distinctive architectural feature.
