Miłomłyn brings together a variety of options for a stay: the tourist Elbląg Canal, a terrain therapy route by Lake Ilińskie, the forest Kurpark and St. Bartholomew’s Church. When planning your trip, you can choose between a waterway, outdoor activity and architectural history.

Terrain Therapy Route and Waterways

The terrain therapy route follows a former railway embankment by Lake Ilińskie. Facilities include solar lights, benches and small piers. The route can be reached via Jeziorna Street; from there, turn right toward the car park by the lake and the bridge. Its location on the former railway embankment and its facilities give the route a distinctive character, which you can take into account when choosing your excursions.

The Elbląg Canal is also a defining feature of Miłomłyn as a tourist waterway. Here, it branches east toward Ostróda and Stare Jabłonki, west toward Zalewo and Iława, and north toward Elbląg. The Miłomłyn Lock is on Kościelna Street. It connects the branch toward Ostróda with the canal’s higher water level toward Elbląg and Iława. This makes both the waterway’s branching point and a specific canal structure central features of Miłomłyn.

Further along the route through the region, excursion boats operate on part of the Elbląg Canal; kayaks and sailboats can travel along its entire length. These details refer to the canal over its wider course, not just the stretch in Miłomłyn. In the town itself, the marina has a slipway and a landing stage; a lowered pier is intended for small watercraft. If you plan to visit the marina, check current access and availability beforehand.

Kurpark, Outdoor Activity and Seasonal Graduation Tower

Miłomłyn’s forest Kurpark covers just under 63 hectares and offers outdoor recreation and movement therapy. The park includes inhalation shelters and two therapy stations equipped with outdoor fitness equipment. The different facilities combine exercise and relaxation across an extensive park area, without requiring you to choose just one activity.

Another distinctive feature is the salt graduation tower in Miłomłyn. It has an area for inhalation baths and a separate area for rest and relaxation. The graduation tower operates from May to October; check its seasonal opening times before your visit. This distinguishes it from the forest Kurpark facilities described as available year-round.

St. Bartholomew’s Church: Architectural History on Site

St. Bartholomew’s Church was built between 1898 and 1901. The three-aisled building is designed in the Neo-Gothic style, and a low clock tower stands at its northeastern corner. Its architectural history also includes an older structure: during construction, the Gothic church nave was demolished, while its north wall and the medieval defensive tower were preserved. The defensive tower continued to serve as a bell tower. At the church, you can see both the Neo-Gothic design and the surviving parts of the older building.

Nature Reserve in the Nearby Area

The Sosny Taborskiej Nature Reserve is in the neighboring Łukta municipality, close to Miłomłyn. It was established in 1957 to preserve the local ecotype of Scots pine and natural succession processes in a deciduous forest habitat. A nature trail through the reserve is intended for pedestrians and cyclists, as well as adults and children. More than ten wooden information boards stand along the trail. The reserve thus combines nature-related themes with a marked educational trail, but it is a destination in the surrounding area, not in Miłomłyn itself.

When choosing a hotel in Miłomłyn, your planned interests may be the deciding factor: the canal and lock represent the waterway; the Kurpark and terrain therapy route offer exercise and relaxation; and the church is a place to explore architectural history. Those wishing to add nature-related activities can visit the nearby Sosny Taborskiej Nature Reserve. These different options can help you tailor your stay to your plans.
