Lukta is a suitable destination for travelers looking to combine cycling with nature and regional culture. The route lengths and their described features provide concrete points of reference for planning your stay.

Cycling Routes Around Łukta

Cycle Route No. 1 is a 10-kilometer loop from Łukta via Woliny and Wynki back to the starting point. Route No. 2 passes through Woliny, Wynki, Dąg, Plichta and Tabórz; it is 15.5 kilometers long and is also designed as a loop. For an initial comparison, these two routes are shorter than the other tours described, which range from 24.5 to 27.9 kilometers.

The yellow cycling route passes through Komorowo, Pelnik, Łęguty, Grazymy and Wynki and is 24.5 kilometers long. It runs mostly through forest, passes two developed swimming areas and crosses the Pasłęka River four times. The availability of the swimming areas may vary seasonally; check before your tour if needed.

The green cycling route is 27.9 kilometers long and runs via Dragolice, Florczaki, Nowaczyzna, Swojki, Żabi Róg, Gubity, Kozia Góra, Gucin and Kolonia Mostkowo before returning to Łukta. Much of the route offers scenic views; it also features several steep climbs and descents. Between Łukta and Żabi Róg, it allows you to travel exclusively on safe unpaved roads.

The blue loop is 27.3 kilometers long and passes through Molza, Dąg, Plichta, Tabórz, Niedźwiady, Białka Leśna, Florczaki Kolonia and Ramoty. It connects Łukta with the Sosny Taborskie and Jezioro Długie nature reserves. Along the way, it passes a swimming area on Lake Gil; another swimming area is nearby at Ramoty, on Lake Marąg. Availability may also vary seasonally here.

Nature in the Municipality

Within the municipality of Łukta, the Sosny Taborskie nature reserve has a nature trail among particularly old, characteristic trees. It is intended for pedestrians and cyclists, as well as adults and children. This makes it a nature attraction in its own right alongside the longer cycling routes.

Also within the municipality, the Jezioro Długie nature reserve protects a well-preserved population of the relict species quillwort in Lake Długie. The two nature reserves can therefore be distinguished by their respective focus: the trail passes through a stand of notable trees, while Jezioro Długie is associated with the protection of this plant population.

Church and Historic Details

The Gothic Church of Our Lady of Częstochowa (Kościół Matki Boskiej Częstochowskiej) in Łukta dates back to the early 15th century. It was built from red bricks and fieldstones. The architecture also reveals a later addition: the square Baroque tower has an upper section made of wood and a weather vane bearing the year 1816.

The church interior also features a late Renaissance altar in the form of a cupboard altarpiece, or cupboard triptych. Together, the building, tower and altar display different styles and periods in one place. If you are interested in church architecture, the clearly identifiable building materials, tower structure and altar form offer specific details to look out for.
