Gorlo can be described through two specific features: its lakeside setting on Lake Ułówki and the cycling routes described here. This helps you plan the focus of your stay without reducing Gorlo to a single activity. If you are considering the village as a destination, you can weigh the lake connections and different route layouts according to whether the landscape by the water or a ride through several places is more important to you.

Lake Ułówki and Łaśmiady

Lake Ułówki near Gorło covers an area of 264.82 hectares and has a maximum depth of 25.5 metres. Gorło lies on its shore. Ułówki is the western arm of Lake Łaśmiady and is connected to it. The names are not interchangeable for orientation: Ułówki refers to the lake on the shore of Gorło, while Łaśmiady is the lake of which Ułówki is the western arm.

Cycling routes with different reference points

The orange-marked “Wokół Łaśmiad” loop is about 31.7 kilometres long. It passes through Stare Juchy, Gorło, Zawady Ełckie, Sajzy, Piaski, Malinówka, Bałamutowo, Łaśmiady, Jeziorowskie and Liski. The approximate distance refers to the loop; the sequence of places makes its route clear and shows that it connects several stops.

The green cycling route runs from Stare Juchy via Zawady Ełckie and Gorłówko back to Stare Juchy, reaching Gorło at kilometre 4.1 of the route. It repeatedly offers views of Lake Ułówki and its surroundings. The kilometre figures for the two routes mean different things: 31.7 kilometres is the approximate total length of “Wokół Łaśmiad”; 4.1 indicates the point where the green route reaches Gorło, not its total length. Check the current route markings before setting off.

Before travelling, check which of these activities are currently offered if a particular one is important to your plans. The total area of about 1,400 hectares refers to the lake complex; 264.82 hectares, by contrast, describes Lake Ułówki alone.
