Przyszowice brings together two educational trails, a landscape park by the palace and cultural themes centred on home life, architectural history and the von Raczek family associated with the town. When planning your stay, the trails differ not only in length but also in their destinations. The cultural sites focus on a recreated Silesian home, the history of the palace and a wooden building.

Educational trails with different routes

The 1.6 km “Dolina rzeki Kłodnicy” nature trail starts in Przyszowice on ul. Leśna and follows the Potok Jasienica stream to the park in Przyszowice. Mammals, including rodents, are commonly found along the trail. This nature theme complements the described course of the stream. Before setting out, it is a good idea to check local conditions.

The 3.4 km “Potok Jasienica” educational trail connects the castle in Chudów with the palace in Przyszowice. In direct comparison, the 1.6 km route along the stream to the park contrasts with the 3.4 km route between the castle and the palace. The length and route connections offer different reference points to help you choose; the two trails lead to different named destinations.

Exhibitions and wooden architecture

The Regional Room is located in two rooms on the upper floor of the palace. It features a faithfully recreated Silesian home from around 100 years ago and shows how a typical Silesian family lived at the beginning of the 20th century. The home and family life are the focus of this exhibition. If you are planning a visit, check in advance what visiting options are currently available.

Another exhibition in part of the palace is devoted to the building’s history and the von Raczek family associated with the town. The two exhibitions have different focuses: one explores Silesian home life and family life, while the other covers the history of the palace and the family.

The wooden parish granary was built in 1829 and is a stop on the Wooden Architecture Route of the Silesian Voivodeship. Its construction date places it in a historical context, while its inclusion on the route situates it within the regional tradition of wooden architecture. This individual historic building thus complements the exhibition themes of the palace and everyday life.

Landscape park and surroundings

The landscape park by the palace is laid out in the English style and currently covers 9.84 hectares. Its design and area offer different points of reference: the style describes the layout, while the figure in hectares indicates its size. The park can therefore be considered as a distinct landscape feature alongside the educational trails, which are described mainly in terms of distance and destinations.

A municipal description published in 2012 named an English oak that was then over 150 years old as the oldest tree in Przyszowice Palace Park. In the municipality to which Przyszowice belongs, sections of the Potok Jasienica have also retained their natural streambeds in places.
