Events and Views

If your stay is tied to an event, its type can be the starting point for your search. Superauto.pl Stadion Śląski hosts football matches, concerts and running events, as well as business conferences, trade fairs and international congresses. Its uses therefore cover both leisure and business occasions.

The observation deck at Szyb Prezydent can be reached via 201 steps at a height of 34 metres and offers panoramic views of the city and its surroundings. With its climb up the stairs and panoramic views, this viewpoint offers a different focus from a visit exploring the history of metallurgy. This lets you choose between views of the city and its surroundings and an insight into industrial history for your stay.

Industrial Heritage in Different Forms

Muzeum Hutnictwa focuses on the history of iron and steel metallurgy during the Industrial Revolution. It presents this history through the Huta Kościuszko/Królewska and Batory/Bismarck steelworks. The subject is thus explored through specific plants. Another link to industrial history is the headframe at Szyb Prezydent: since 2010, it has been part of the Route of Industrial Monuments, together with the buildings of Sztygarka. The two focuses differ: the museum covers the history of metallurgy and the named steelworks, while the headframe and Sztygarka buildings form part of the route.

Landscape and Wildlife

The Żabie Doły nature and landscape complex covers around 226.24 hectares. It includes wasteland, agricultural areas, bodies of water and spoil heaps. Of the total area, 181.76 hectares are in Chorzów and 44.48 hectares in Bytom; Żabie Doły therefore extends across both city areas. This division is an important distinction when planning your trip: the complex is not located solely in Chorzów. It is also home to 251 species of vascular plants. The types of terrain, the size of the area and the diversity of plants give this natural area a different profile from the city's event and industrial destinations.

Śląski Ogród Zoologiczny has its own focus: it covers just under 50 hectares and offers themed visitor trails. If you compare the zoo and the landscape area as places to visit, different features stand out: the zoo's size and themed trails, and Żabie Doły's various types of terrain and diversity of vascular plants.

At Muzeum Górnośląski Park Etnograficzny, the family outdoor activity „Etnoodkrywca“ is offered as an add-on to admission. The game includes a map and a diploma upon completion.
