Luzino offers a range of ways to enjoy your stay: trails for walking and running, an arboretum with rare trees and shrubs, and several places with historical significance. You can tailor your visit to the topics that interest you most.

Walking Trails and Exercise

The entrance to the Ścieżka Zdrowia is on ul. Wilczka; there is also a public car park beside it. The route offers two trails of different lengths: the pine trail is 1.9 km long, and the beech trail is 3.4 km long. Both are intended for walking and running. Several pieces of equipment for general exercise add to the facilities. The difference in length between the two trails is specific and can help you plan how far to go on your outing.

There is also a viewpoint along the Ścieżka Zdrowia. It is two kilometres from the entrance; from there, the view stretches across Charwatynia to Strzebielino. Along with the stated trail lengths, it offers another landmark and a wide view of the surrounding area.

Arboretum and Park

The arboretum in Luzino is home to more than 140 species and varieties of rare trees and shrubs. Paths and lawns run through the grounds; benches, a shelter and a prepared fire pit are also provided. Admission is free. Check the current access conditions before your visit. For nature enthusiasts, the variety of trees and shrubs is the main attraction, while the paths, benches and shelter are additional features of the grounds.

The prof. Gerarda Labudy Park is in the centre of Luzino. Its facilities include a pond, a fountain, walking paths and a playground. The paths, water and playground offer different features within the park; for families with children, the playground may be a practical consideration when choosing places to visit.

Church and Historic Sites

The Church of św. Wawrzyńca dates from 1740. Its features include Baroque elements, including the entrance gate. The oldest element of the church is a medieval stone holy-water font from the previous wooden church. This detail shows the connection between the present church building and its predecessor.

Another link to the past leads to the Early Middle Ages: the 9th-century hillfort site is on ul. Długa, beyond the footbridge over the Bolszewka River. While the church has a specific construction date, the hillfort site points to a much earlier period. The Gminna Biblioteka Publiczna im. Leona Roppla is also housed in a historic building: it is located in a former Protestant church that was used from 1895 to 1945.

Regional Collections

The Izba Regionalna in Luzino displays cultural artefacts relating to the region's history, archaeology, ethnography and art. Its collections include a material and spiritual collection, a forestry and natural history collection, and a collection of agricultural machinery displayed outdoors. The exhibits therefore cover cultural, natural history and agricultural themes; the agricultural machinery is specifically an outdoor collection.

The Izba Regionalna is open every Wednesday from 10:00 to 18:00. Opening hours may change, so check the current information before your visit. Together with the church, the hillfort site and the former Protestant church, the Izba offers another way to explore regional history, with its own focus on collections and cultural artefacts.
