Lubichowo combines cultural and historical attractions in the village with nature and walking routes, some of which extend across the wider municipality. If you are looking for a hotel in Lubichowo, you can first decide which aspect of the destination you want to shape your stay: St James’ Church, the river and birdlife, or one of the routes mentioned here.

Forests, the Wda and birdlife

Forests cover more than 60 percent of the total area of Lubichowo Municipality; about half of this forest area belongs to the Tuchola Forests (Bory Tucholskie). The forest coverage refers to the entire municipality, not just the village. The Wda flows through the municipal area for about 17 kilometres and offers a varied route for kayaking. The river is also used for fishing. Beaver lodges can be found along the Wda. If you are planning a kayaking trip, check local access before setting out.

Waterbirds in the municipal area include mute swans, herons, cormorants, ducks and cranes. Lubichowskie Lake lies south of Lubichowo. Its reed-lined shores provide a habitat for waterbirds, including ospreys, herons, cormorants and cranes. The municipality therefore offers opportunities to observe birds along the river, as well as at a separate lake area south of the village, with its reed-lined shores.

Routes of different lengths

The southern section of the Szlak Jezior Kociewskich – odcinek południowy is 33.2 kilometres long and runs between Ocypel and Osiek. It is almost entirely suitable for cycling. A route from Lubichowo reaches the Wda and then continues for about 4.7 kilometres through wooded countryside. The lengths refer to different things: 33.2 kilometres describes the entire southern section between the two villages; about 4.7 kilometres refers to the woodland section that follows the Wda on the route from Lubichowo. This makes it possible to interpret the figures for planning purposes without confusing a section of the route with its full length. Access conditions on the route from Lubichowo may change; check them before setting out.

St James’ Church and its historic furnishings

At 18 Starogardzka Street is a Roman Catholic parish church complex dedicated to St James the Apostle. It comprises the church, the rectory, the cemetery and a fragment of the perimeter fence. The church was completed in 1930–1931. Baroque and Rococo furnishings were transferred to it from the older church. This brings together, in one place, a building completed in the 20th century and furnishings from an older church.

Linden trees designated as natural monuments

Two broad-leaved lime trees in the Lubichowo cemetery are designated as natural monuments; they are about 150 years old. An avenue of ten lime trees in Lubichowo is also designated as a natural monument; these trees are likewise about 150 years old. For nature enthusiasts, the two sites differ in form: individual trees in the cemetery and an entire avenue in the village. The age figures are approximate, and the condition of individual trees may change over time.
