Czarna Dąbrówka: History and Hiking Trails
Accommodation in Czarna Dąbrówka
When planning a trip to Czarna Dąbrówka, you can distinguish between the history and hiking trails of the village itself and nature destinations in the municipality it belongs to. The village has a former Protestant church and an eclectic-style manor house; two PTTK hiking trails end there or pass through it. Other hiking and water-based activities are in Rokity and Łupawsko, outside the destination itself.
Historic Buildings in Czarna Dąbrówka
The former Protestant church was built in 1935–1936 and consecrated on January 6, 1947. After its consecration, it was used as a branch church of the Kozin parish. Its documented history is thus marked by three specific milestones: the construction period, the consecration, and its subsequent use as a church. Another historic building is located at 31 Bytowska Street. The manor house is built of brick, designed in the eclectic style, and included in the heritage registers. For the church, the construction and history of its use are the main points; for the manor house, its material, style, and heritage status are its defining features.
Hiking Trails Through the Village and Municipality
It is also worth looking at the route of each hiking trail. The 67 km PTTK “Dolina Łupawy” trail ends in Czarna Dąbrówka. The PTTK “Krajobrazów młodoglacjalnych” trail passes through the village. The two routes therefore serve different purposes here: on one, Czarna Dąbrówka is the endpoint; on the other, it is part of the route. Check the local trail markers before setting out. In addition, a pedestrian and cycle path runs through Czarna Dąbrówka on the grounds of the health center.
A nature and recreation trail is located in the municipality, in Rokity, outside the destination itself. The “Przyjaciel lasu” trail runs through forests managed by the Cewice Forest District and has two forest lakes and three routes measuring 1,000 m, 1,200 m, and about 1,700 m. These details make it possible to compare the route lengths directly. Information boards cover nesting boxes, aquatic ecosystems, and the role of water in the forest. Other topics include the forest’s life cycle and layers, small mammals, forest fruits, protected plants, waste decomposition, and the daily life of birds. Educational games teach visitors to identify trees, birds, and mushrooms. The trail thus combines specific route options with a range of forest and water-related topics.
Kayaking in the Municipality of Czarna Dąbrówka
The kayaking options are also in locations within the municipality, not in the destination itself. Kayak trips on the Łupawa usually start at the kayak landing in Łupawsko, on the lake’s left bank. In 2022, the regional tourism authority described a kayak landing in Łupawsko on Lake Jasień, with a floating dock and a slipway for launching kayaks.
A separate section of the Łupawa between Kozin and Damno Młyn is recommended exclusively for experienced kayakers. Kozin is near Czarna Dąbrówka. If you plan to take this section, check the current local water conditions before setting out. This helps distinguish the usual launch points in Łupawsko from the specific recommendation for the section near Kozin when planning your trip.
