Nowoberezowo combines preserved traditional wooden ornamentation with specific local and route references. In the wider Hajnowski destination, you can explore nature, hiking and cultural themes from a different perspective.

Wooden Ornamentation and Routes in Nowoberezowo

Traditional wooden ornamentation has been preserved in Nowoberezowo and shapes the local character. To discover the area’s landscape heritage, you can follow the “Wiejski Krajobraz Drewnem Zdobiony” quest. The route is not signposted, so check the route details locally before setting out. This makes it easy to distinguish this route from a marked trail without assuming that signs are in place.

Another specific route detail concerns the Hajnówka–Piaski cycle route: it reaches Nowoberezowo after 4 km on a paved road. Check current route conditions before setting off. Your planning can therefore take account of different points of reference: for the quest, the lack of signage matters; for the cycle route, the stated distance and paved road.

Chapel, Church and Local History

Before the first houses in Nowoberezowo, the wooden Krynoczka chapel stands on the left. It is therefore located before the built-up area and should be distinguished from buildings within the village. In Nowoberezowo itself stands the Orthodox Church of the Ascension of the Lord.

A separate historical reference is the first wooden Uniate parish church in Nowoberezowo: King Sigismund III Vasa founded it in 1617. The year refers to this founding history and provides a point of reference for the area’s history.

Nature and Hiking Trails in the Hajnowski Destination

In Hajnówka, the “Kraina Puszczy i Żubra” Nordic walking park has seven marked routes, equipped with maps, ranging from 3 to 21 km in length. They start at the water park in Hajnówka or at the “Zwierzyniec” car park on regional road 689 between Hajnówka and Białowieża. Check information about starting points and access before setting off. One of the routes is the “Pętla Żubra”: it is listed as 15 km and takes about three hours. Trail conditions and estimated times may vary by season, so treat the duration as a guide.

The rules vary by route in Białowieża National Park. “Do Dębu Jagiełły” passes through a strictly protected area and may only be walked with a tourist guide licensed by the park director. Individual visitors may walk the listed “Carska Tropina,” “Wilczy Szlak,” “Wokół Uroczyska Głuszec” and “Tropem Żubra” trails, as well as the “Przez trzy zbiorowiska” educational trail, without a guide. Check the current rules before setting off.

Crafts and Culture in Hajnówka

If you would like to include this craft experience in your plans, arrange a time with the museum in advance.
