Poświętne brings together church and local history with nature and cycling in the municipality. Horse-riding lessons and several named trails are also among the options in the area. When looking for a hotel for your stay, you can first consider whether you are mainly interested in the town itself or in activities in the municipality. Voivodeship Road 681 also runs through Poświętne.

Church and local history

The present-day brick Church of the Transfiguration in Poświętne was completed in 1906 in the Neo-Gothic style. The parish of the Transfiguration has existed since 16 March 1808. The two dates refer to different milestones: the parish was founded in 1808, and the present church building was completed in 1906. The church is dedicated to the Transfiguration of the Lord. In nearby Pietkowo, the historic granary bears the brick inscription “W.B.1894R.P.”.

Nature in the municipality

The Dąb Rudosław, a protected pedunculate oak and natural monument estimated to be about 500 years old, stands in Pietkowo. When it was placed under protection in 2016, its condition was noted to be deteriorating. Therefore, check the tree’s current condition and access arrangements before visiting. The forest complex around Pietkowo, Liza and Wilkowo also includes a Natura 2000 site.

Seasonal sightings of black storks, white-tailed eagles and several duck species are possible at the fishponds in Pietkowo; sightings are not guaranteed. An educational and ornithological trail adds to the nature experiences on offer. The rebuilt Cyranka forester’s lodge provides a place to rest and nature education. Visitor facilities and access to educational activities may change; check the current arrangements in advance.

Cycling routes and other activities

Three marked cycling routes in the municipality total 72 kilometres. Route 2 is a green, 22-kilometre route from Poświętne to Płonka Kościelna. Route 3 is red, 32 kilometres long, and connects Turek, Gabrysin, Wilkowo, Marynki, Józefin and Pietkowo. The lengths and endpoints give you two specific reference points for planning. As route information may change due to local trail maintenance, it is advisable to check the latest route status.
