Discover Chyliczki
Accommodation in Chyliczki
Chyliczki brings together the history of a former manor estate and a specific connection to water sports: the Jeziorka kayak route passes through the village. If you are looking for a hotel for your trip, you can use these two themes as a guide, depending on whether you are especially interested in local history or a paddling trip.
Manor Estate History and Poniatówka
Chyliczki was once farmland belonging to the folwark of the Chyliczki manor estate. This historical connection gives the village’s history an agricultural starting point, without equating past land use with the village’s character today.
The Poniatówka building was constructed in the former village of Chyliczki, at a site with a long building tradition. In 2025, it received an award in the “Zabytek Zadbany” competition. The building’s history offers a distinct way to explore Chyliczki: the village is connected not only with its former manor estate, but also with a long building tradition at this site.
The name Poniatówka is also found in the nearby Książąt Mazowieckich City Park in Piaseczno, where a romantic garden pavilion of that name has been preserved. The location helps distinguish this connection to the park in Piaseczno from the Poniatówka in the former village of Chyliczki.
Cecylia Plater-Zyberkówna is part of the history of the surrounding area: in 1891, she bought the former Chyliczki estate and founded the Agricultural Household School for Girls there that same year. Another historical connection is in Piaseczno’s city park. Since 1902, the Chapel of Matki Bożej Częstochowskiej has been housed in the Platerówka building.
Jeziorka and Regional Routes
The Jeziorka kayak route passes through Chyliczki. This provides a named water-sports route alongside the historical themes. If you would like to combine your trip with a paddling excursion, you can include this local connection in your plans; check current conditions before setting out on a specific trip.
The wider Piaseczyński destination offers further nature and history themes to complement a visit to Chyliczki. Czersk’s medieval Gothic castle was built by Duke Janusz the Elder around the turn of the 14th and 15th centuries, on the site of an earlier fortification. At the foot of the castle, on its eastern side, lies Lake Czerskie, a former oxbow lake of the Vistula that is fully protected as a natural monument.
Konstancin-Jeziorna offers another historical connection. Zdrojowy Park lies in the centre of the spa district; its main avenue connects Piłsudskiego Street with the graduation tower. The tower opened on 21 July 1978. As the brine evaporates, it creates a microclimate in the surrounding area that resembles the climate of the seaside.
For hiking and nature, Chojnowski Landscape Park has seven marked hiking trails, as well as a network of educational trails for pedestrians and cyclists. The park’s eleven nature reserves may be visited only via existing paths and marked trails. At the Żabieniec pond complex, you can observe, among other species, goosanders, black-necked grebes, red-necked grebes, little grebes, teal, bearded reedlings, penduline tits and black storks.
The routes described vary in length and course within the wider Piaseczyński destination. The 10-kilometre Chojnowski szlak zabytków przyrody passes through the Chojnów, Pilawski Grąd and Uroczysko Stephana nature reserves. The 24.5-kilometre route from Konstancin-Jeziorna to Góra Kalwaria and Czersk, marked in yellow and green, starts at the corner of Piłsudskiego and Sienkiewicza streets in Konstancin-Jeziorna and passes through Obory, Słomczyn, Cieciszew and Dębówka.
The 28-kilometre Szlak Południkowy through the Chojnowskie Forests runs from Piaseczno railway station via Zalesie Dolne, Górki Szymona, Zimne Doły, Zalesie Górne, the Łoś nature reserve and Nowy Prażmów to Prażmów. At 30 kilometres, the Szlak rezerwatów przyrody is longer; it connects Zalesie Górne, Zimne Doły, the Uroczysko Stephana, Chojnów, Obory, Skarpa Oborska, Olszyna Łyczyńska and Łęgi Oborskie nature reserves, as well as Konstancin-Jeziorna, and continues to Ursynów. You can start by comparing the routes by length and the places they pass through.
