Okuninka by Lake Białe: Swimming and cycling routes
Accommodation in Okuninka
Okuninka by Lake Białe is a popular holiday resort, also known nationwide as “polska Ibiza” and “perła Lubelszczyzny.” During the summer holidays, tens of thousands of holidaymakers and tourists may be there at the same time. If you travel during this holiday period, you’ll find Okuninka is a strongly seasonal destination.
Swimming season at Lake Białe
There are three municipal bathing areas at Lake Białe, supervised during the summer season. If you’re planning your stay around swimming, this seasonal limit is important to keep in mind. For the 2026 season, rentals in central Okuninka include kayaks, pedal boats and SUP boards. Diving equipment is also available for rent near the destination at Lake Białe. Before your trip, check the availability of the central rental service if you’re counting on using it.
Tourist information and bicycles
The tourist information office is in the centre of the resort, by the main beach. You can get free guidebooks, maps and brochures about the Lublin region there; other materials are available for a fee. The tourist information office also rents bicycles. Bikes can be returned at two locations in Włodawa: the tourist information office at ul. Partyzantów 25 and MOSiR at ul. Szkolna 4. Include these Włodawa return addresses in your rental plans. Check in advance whether the bicycle rental service is currently operating before relying on it.
Two marked cycling routes
The 26 km red cycling route “Stykiem granic” passes through Okuninka, the Sobiborski Landscape Park, the Jezioro Orchowe nature reserve and Dubnik at the Poland–Ukraine–Belarus tripoint. The route follows the Bug River and is equipped along its length with twelve information boards, rest shelters and an observation tower. A 32 km section of the yellow-marked cycling route connects Okuninka with Wola Uhruska; it opened in summer 2001. The markings and distances provide two specific points for comparing the routes: red and 26 km versus yellow and 32 km. Conditions on the “Stykiem granic” route may vary; check the current surface conditions before setting out.
More leisure activities
There are a range of leisure activities away from the water, too. Inflatable water parks are available for children. Okuninka has three paintball fields; booking by phone is requested. A game lasts two hours; booking by phone is requested. The two-hour duration is a clearly defined block of time you can take into account when planning your day. A leisure park’s main attraction is a two-hectare maze. After making your way through it and finding the complete map, you can enjoy these activities free of charge: shooting with a plush slingshot, a bow or a paintball gun. The leisure park is open seasonally.
