Święta Katarzyna offers visitors a range of points of interest related to local history, parks, and sports. If you are looking for a hotel for your stay in the town, you can first consider which of these aspects interests you most. Historical records tell of different periods, while park paths and sports facilities offer other points of focus.

Local History and Memorial Sites

An early Gothic church dating from the 13th century was dedicated to Saint Catherine. Its ruins stood in Święta Katarzyna; German soldiers blew up the church toward the end of the Second World War. The historical connections therefore span from medieval church construction to the war years of the 20th century.

The convent of the Sisters of St. Elizabeth on ul. Główna was built in 1895 to a design by German architect Mansuetus Fromm. Another historical reference can be found at the intersection of Główna and Dąbrowskiego: a former German monument stands there, dedicated to the victims of the Austro-Prussian War of 1866 and the Franco-Prussian War of 1870–1871. The two wars give the monument a clearly defined historical dedication.

The Izba Pamięci “Terra Nostra” is run by the Centrum Kultury w Siechnicach and presents the local historical heritage. The exhibition in the local library includes everyday objects, documents, photographs, books, newspapers, diplomas, and other mementos from the prewar and postwar periods. In this way, different forms of remembrance are brought together: everyday objects as well as written, photographic, and printed records. Three surviving glass panels from a former dance floor are also on display in the library. If you would like to visit these places, check the local visiting arrangements in advance.

Park and Sports

The park in Święta Katarzyna has walking paths and a children’s playground. As part of the park’s redevelopment, new benches, loungers, and waste bins were installed in 2019.

A municipal notice dated December 1, 2020, mentions a 20-meter-long zip line for children aged 3 to 12 in the park on ul. Kolejowa. The age range is a specific point of reference if you are planning a visit with children. If using the zip line is important to your plans, check current availability in advance.

The sports complex at ul. Główna 4 includes a sports hall with spectator seating and ancillary rooms, a multi-purpose field with artificial turf, and a fitness trail. The facilities differ in their purpose: the hall provides an indoor space with spectator seating, while the multi-purpose field and fitness trail are outdoors. If you are planning to use the sports complex, check the current terms of use in advance.

Railway Station and Getting Around

The railway station is also part of the town’s transport history. In 1842, the first train in the history of Lower Silesia ran from Wrocław to Oława and passed through the station in Święta Katarzyna. This journey is a historical reference; it does not describe a current service. There are parking spaces for cars and bicycles in the immediate vicinity of the station. The station’s historical role and the information about parking can therefore be considered two separate points of reference when planning your trip.
