In Kąty Wrocławskie, a distinctive townscape and several cycling and themed routes offer different focal points for planning your trip. The church, market square and street layout provide insights into the town’s history; the routes give specific details about their course, length and duration.

Townscape and Architectural History

The Parish Church of St. Peter and Paul is a 15th-century late Gothic church that shapes the skyline of Kąty Wrocławskie. Its described features include a polygonal-ended presbytery and an octagonal tower. The town hall displays Neo-Romanesque forms. The church and town hall thus offer distinct architectural points of reference in the townscape.

The layout of the town can also be seen in several details: the market square is rectangular, with eight streets leading off it. The original regular layout of the buildings within the former walls and moat has been preserved in the street pattern, as well as in green spaces and green corridors. Thus, the town’s inherited features include not only individual buildings but also its spatial layout.

Regional Memory Chamber

The Regional Memory Chamber contains documents, photographs, archaeological finds, books and other objects relating to the town and municipality of Kąty Wrocławskie. It is open Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 08:00 to 16:00, Thursdays from 12:00 to 18:00, and Saturdays from 10:00 to 16:00. Check the opening hours again before your visit. The collection complements the architectural impressions with documents and finds relating to the town and municipality.

Cycling and Themed Routes

EuroVelo 9, the “Amber Route,” passes through Kąty Wrocławskie. In addition, two special routes were established in collaboration between the municipality and Footsteps. These include the sightseeing route “Zabytki Kątów Wrocławskich,” whose name highlights its focus on visiting places of interest.

The blue-marked Szlak Bobra (Beaver Trail) runs from Kąty Wrocławskie via Jurczyce, Romnów, Małkowice, Sadowice, Sadkówek and Sośnica, and back to Kąty Wrocławskie. It is 16 kilometres long, takes about two hours, and is considered easy and suitable for cycling with children. The green-marked Szlak Bielika (White-Tailed Eagle Trail) runs from Kąty Wrocławskie via Sośnica, Krobielowice, Zachowice, Czerńczyce and Kamionna, and back. This route is listed as 23 kilometres long and taking about three hours; it is described as more challenging.

For planning your time, the two routes can be compared directly: the Szlak Bobra covers 16 kilometres in about two hours, compared with 23 kilometres and about three hours for the Szlak Bielika. The stated difficulty levels also differ. This gives you both a time and distance comparison when choosing between the two routes.
