Jugowa brings together a Gothic church, a historic park, and a festival centered on linden and honey. This offers several perspectives on your stay: architectural history, heritage status, local beekeeping traditions, and a cycling route connection to the church.

Church of Saint Anthony of Padua

The Gothic Church of Saint Anthony of Padua dates from the 15th century and was remodeled in the 18th century. It has a single nave. The tower, aligned with the church’s axis, transitions from a square base to an octagon and is crowned by a Baroque spire. This sequence makes the change in form from square to octagon easy to follow. The two-bay presbytery has a rib vault. The two bays divide the space, while the vault defines the ceiling form. The floor plan, tower, and presbytery thus reveal different aspects of the church’s architecture.

The furnishings include a Gothic baptismal font from 1490, a Baroque altar, a pulpit, and several sculptures; four Renaissance epitaphs are located outside. The baptismal font is associated with a specific year, while the epitaphs, because they are located outside the church, relate to the building differently from the altar, pulpit, and sculptures. The church is listed in the heritage register under number A/1801/1470. Its architectural history, vault form, and furnishings offer different points of reference for understanding its cultural history.

Park History and Local Culture

The park in Jugowa dates from 1860 to 1870 and is listed in both the heritage register and the heritage inventory. It differs in date from the church, which originated in the 15th century and was remodeled in the 18th century, while the park dates to the second half of the 19th century. This lets you place two different historical periods of the village in context; both types of listing are also specified for the park.

Święto Lipy i Miodu offers a different thematic perspective. In 2025, the festival took place on September 13 at the village community hall in Jugowa, focusing on local beekeeping traditions and the richness of nature. At one edition, local products made with linden and honey were presented and sampled. The festival’s focus thus connects beekeeping with a specific culinary experience featuring linden and honey.

Jugowa on the Cycling Route Map

A cycling route map lists the church as tourist attraction number 10 in connection with a cycling route through the municipalities of Dobromierz and Strzegom. The two numbers serve different purposes: A/1801/1470 identifies the church’s entry in the heritage register; number 10 marks it as a tourist attraction on the cycling route map. Depending on whether you are interested in its heritage status or its map designation, you can identify the relevant reference.
