Sokolniki is part of the Ozorków municipality. Its parkland and the history of the manor area expressly known as Sokolniki-Parcela provide specific cultural points of interest during a stay. If you are looking for hotels, check the exact address of each property against the visits you can actually make, and do not automatically assume that a historic estate is an open-access leisure or hotel complex.

Parkland with ponds and a variety of trees

A municipal description of the park in Sokolniki identifies five ponds as key landscape features. The trees described include eleven ash trees listed as natural monuments, two black poplars, an American tulip tree and a wych elm. The description also mentions mature lime trees, beeches and Weymouth pines.

Avenues of ash, hornbeam and chestnut trees add to the landscape. For anyone interested in dendrology, this offers a specific look at different tree species and historic planting styles, rather than just a general reference to green space. However, the mention of ponds does not confirm that there is a swimming area, boat rental or permission to fish.

Before planning a visit to the park, check which entrances are actually open and review local notices. A protected tree or historic park does not mean that every area is accessible. Nor does a property name referring to a park imply a right to use it.

Sokolniki-Parcela: a surviving outbuilding, not the old wooden manor house

The municipality describes Sokolniki-Parcela as a 4.7-hectare landscape park dating from the first quarter of the 19th century. A historic manor outbuilding from around 1820 has survived in the park. It should be distinguished from the original wooden manor house.

After the wooden house burned down in 1931, Baron Aleksander Rozstocki had the surviving building extended and converted into a residence. The building’s history thus comprises several phases: an older outbuilding, the loss of the original manor house and its later use as a residence. Visitors today should not expect a complete wooden manor house to have survived unchanged.

Historic leisure use and current heritage protection

The Herbst family used the manor estate as a place of recreation. The family held hunts in the surrounding woods. This historic use says nothing about hunting or leisure programs offered today and should not be understood as a current part of a travel booking.

The former manor outbuilding and park in Sokolniki-Parcela have been protected as monuments since March 28, 1988. The register entry confirms their historic significance, not general access to the interior of the residential building. Check specific visiting options separately from your accommodation.
