Rawa Mazowiecka offers a variety of things to explore during a stay: the Baszta Zamku Książąt Mazowieckich, the Muzeum Ziemi Rawskiej, historic architecture, as well as the city park and Zalew Tatar. If you are looking for a hotel, you can plan your trip around the topics that interest you most. Cultural history, landscaped and protected vegetation, and a large reservoir surrounded by forest offer different points of interest.

Tower Ruin and Regional Museum

The Baszta Zamku Książąt Mazowieckich is a tower ruin. From June to September, it is open to visitors on Saturdays and Sundays from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. On other days of the week, organized groups can visit the tower by prior arrangement with the Muzeum Ziemi Rawskiej. As these visiting hours are seasonal, check the museum’s current visitor information before your trip.

The Muzeum Ziemi Rawskiej is a regional museum with five departments: archaeology, ethnography, history, numismatics and art. Its permanent exhibitions include “Wnętrze izby rawskiej z początku XX wieku” and “Gabinet numizmatyczny.” The themes range from a Rawska room from the early 20th century to numismatics. The exhibitions may change; if a particular exhibition is important to your visit, check the current information in advance.

Jatki miejskie: Monument and Educational Spaces

The Jatki miejskie building was constructed in 1827 and is listed in the register of monuments. It underwent extensive renovation from 2018 to 2020 and was adapted for the Muzeum Ziemi Rawskiej. Jatki miejskie houses two workshop and educational spaces: the Muzealna Pracownia Edukacji Regionalnej and the Pracownia Etnograficzna. They are suitable for workshops and educational activities. This site thus combines architectural history with spaces for museum education.

City Park on the Rawka

The historic city park dates from the 19th century and lies on the Rawka. During the Duchy of Warsaw, it was considered one of the most beautiful English-style parks. It covers just over five hectares and combines landscaped green spaces with wild vegetation protected as part of a nature reserve; it is also distinguished by its high biodiversity. The revitalization from 2017 to 2018 included, among other things, the construction of paths, restoration of a wooden bridge and modernization of a playground.

Zalew Tatar and Cycling

Zalew Tatar is a reservoir of more than 50 hectares, surrounded by forest. Its landscape differs from that of the city park: the size of the body of water and its forest setting shape the impression at Zalew Tatar, while the park brings together landscaped and protected vegetation with its English garden history.

The first section of the cycling route project in Rawa Mazowiecka has been completed. This section makes cycling in the city easier. The project is intended to create a route from the Zamkowa Wola residential area to Zalew Tatar via the historic city center.
