Błonie is shaped by a long parish history and a variety of historic buildings. The Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, older local traditions, and a former nature reserve offer different insights into the history of the area. Two county roads also provide practical guidance through their named locations.

Church and Ecclesiastical History

The Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus was built from 1913 to 1916 and consecrated in 1923. It was designed by Józef Pius Dziekoński. The brick building is oriented east and has a single nave; it is designed in the Neo-Baroque style. Star vaults are found in the nave, the presbytery, and the transept apses; the gallery and vestibule have barrel vaults. The furnishings include an embroidered chasuble from the 17th century, a Rococo monstrance from the mid-17th century, and Baroque pewter candlesticks. The church therefore brings together information about its construction period and architecture with furnishings of various kinds.

The parish in Błonie was founded in 1373 by the Archbishop of Gniezno. At its foundation, a wooden larch church dedicated to All Saints was endowed. It stood for 600 years but no longer exists today. The founding of the parish and the later construction of the Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus thus mark different periods in the local history of the church.

Local History and Historic Buildings

A document from 1235 mentions Błonie and describes the transfer of the settlement by Gumbert, Archdeacon of Kraków, to the Cistercian monastery in Wąchock. Archaeological finds from the Błonie burial ground point to links with the local cultural environment and contacts with western regions. This interpretation of the finds complements the written record with an archaeological perspective.

The former Błonie Nature Reserve was located near the village. It covered 20.74 hectares and was established in 1977 to protect halophytic, or salt-loving, vegetation. The area was abolished by Order No. 40/2013 of the Regional Director for Environmental Protection in Łódź, dated 26 June 2013. Its status as a nature reserve is therefore historical and has not been current since its abolition.

A farm building dating from the mid-19th century stands in Błonie and formerly belonged to Wilhelm Orsetti. The brick building has one storey, a converted attic, and a half-hipped roof. Its plain architectural form differs from the sacred architecture of the parish church; the features described concern its materials, number of storeys, and roof. Along with the archaeological connections, the building adds further perspectives on architectural and local history to the historic character of the area.
