Strzelewo can be explored through its natural environment, architectural history and a green-marked circular route. Local highlights include an oak listed as a natural monument, a castle with a park, a historic Protestant cemetery, a wayside shrine and a distillery. You can choose different themes when planning your trip: old trees, the development of a building or a cycling tour through several places. You can focus on each theme individually.

Ancient Oak and Castle Park

An approximately 200-year-old oak grows in a forest in Strzelewo. The forest is managed by Leśnictwo Kruszyn, whose headquarters are in Zielonczyn. The oak is listed in the register of natural monuments; it is 18 metres tall, its crown is 17 metres wide and its circumference at breast height is 340 centimetres. These three measurements describe different dimensions: height, crown width and trunk circumference. The circumference is measured at breast height, not at the base of the trunk. Together, these details give a more precise profile of the tree than simply calling it an old oak.

Horse chestnuts, Norway maples, European beeches and black locusts grow in the park by the Neo-Gothic castle. A spreading copper beech is especially striking there. The listed oak stands out as an individual tree, while the park is characterised by several named tree species. When deciding which nature themes to focus on during your stay, you can choose between a distinctive single tree and a park with a varied tree population.

The Castle and Historic Traces

The Neo-Gothic castle in Strzelewo was built in 1868, extended in 1910 and remodelled in 1968–1969. It lost its stylistic features during this remodelling. The three dates mark different stages: construction, extension and a later remodelling. This makes it possible to distinguish its original construction from the changes made in the 20th century, rather than reducing the building's history to a single year.

A Protestant cemetery lies on the slope beside the road from Strzelewo to Ugoda. It dates from around the turn of the 20th century and covers 0.07 hectares. The site is completely overgrown with lilac, and no gravestones remain. Its date, area and surviving or missing features offer a different historical reference point from the castle's construction phases.

Other historic sites in Strzelewo include a wayside shrine classified as historic and a distillery. Together with the castle and cemetery, they broaden the range of themes through which the village's history can be understood.

Green Circular Route Through the Municipality

The green-marked nature trail and cycling route forms a loop through Strzelewo and other places in the central and southern parts of Sicienko municipality. In Strzelewo, the route crosses National Road 10; it then leads to the Kruszyn Nature Reserve and, via a field track, to the forester's lodge in Zielonczyn. This makes the loop a different focus from the village's historic sites: it covers several parts of the municipality and describes individual sections of its course. The route description was last changed in 2021. Check the route locally before setting off.

When planning, you can distinguish between local nature and history themes and a circular ride through several places in the municipality. The castle information focuses on dated construction phases, while the route is defined by its markings, loop format and course. This lets you shape a stay around Strzelewo's distinctive features differently from a trip centred on the cycling route.
