When looking for a hotel in Dollard-des-Ormeaux, you can choose based on the interests you want to shape your stay: walks and seasonal activities at Parc du Centenaire, sports at the Centre civique and Centre aquatique, or art and creative activities. Each place offers a different focus. You can first decide whether nature, exercise or art is the priority for your plans.

Parks and outdoor activities

Parc du Centenaire covers 48 hectares and is wooded. You can go for a walk, play beach volleyball, picnic or have friendly soccer games there. Activities range from exercise and team sports to a quieter break outdoors. In winter, ice skating, cross-country skiing and sledding are possible in the park; actual availability depends on the weather and municipal conditions. If you plan to take part in one of these seasonal activities, check the conditions before your visit. Another named location is Parc-nature du Bois-de-Liesse, which includes the Bois-Francs sector in Dollard-des-Ormeaux.

Sports at the Centre civique and Centre aquatique

The Centre civique has three ice rinks. Lugiglace enables people with reduced mobility to skate there in a wheelchair; advance reservations are required. Residents can take part in programs in hockey, figure skating, ringette, speed skating and public skating in collaboration with sports clubs. Programs and schedules may vary. Various tournaments and sporting events are also held at the Centre civique. If a particular event is important to your trip, check the dates.

The Centre aquatique is located in the Centre civique at 12001 Boulevard De Salaberry, at the intersection with Lake. Its pool is 50 metres long and has six lanes; it also has a removable access ramp, a pool lift and two one-metre diving boards. The facility has a gym with wall mirrors and hardwood floors for classes, including various aerobics, yoga and Pilates classes. A fitness room is equipped for strength training with free weights and cardiovascular training. The men's and women's changing rooms have a dry sauna; there is also a family changing room. As operational access may change, check the latest operating information before making a visit to the Centre aquatique part of your plans.

Art and creative activities

The Galerie de la Ville is located in the basement of the Centre culturel and is dedicated to professional and educational visual arts. According to the city website, its program includes openings and numerous exhibitions; the same website currently lists the gallery as temporarily closed. Take this closure into account in your plans and check the latest status before planning a gallery visit.

Two works are located in the Centre civique: “Les livres de verre” by Linda Covit was made of glass and metal in 2000; “Deux baleines” by Susan Davy-Hodgson is made of Saint-Marc limestone. The different materials help distinguish the two works. Another sculpture, “Les mouvements intérieurs” by Pierre Fournier, is made of anodized aluminum and is located at École secondaire des Sources in Dollard-des-Ormeaux, near the football and soccer fields on Rue Lake.

Céramic Café-Studio offers a workshop and boutique as well as restaurant service. Beginners and experienced painters can take part on their own, with family or with friends; art advisers are available to help. Check the details before your visit.
