Between 2012 and 2015, surveys recorded a medium-sized fishing and processing harbour in Ingomar, with a public wharf and floating dock; Fisheries and Oceans Canada published a technical report on it in 2017. There are two public boat launch sites: a gravel ramp on Black Point Road, and a public slip and concrete ramp on Ingomar Road. Check local conditions before using either site.

Boat Launches and Cape Negro Island

In suitable weather, you can paddle from Ingomar to Cape Negro Island; weather and sea conditions can vary. The current reinforced-concrete lighthouse tower on the nearby island was built in 1915. The structure is recognized as a federal heritage property. This makes for a combination of a weather-dependent water activity and a historic structure in the area, though the lighthouse is not in Ingomar itself.

Beaches near Ingomar

Ingomar Beach is near the small community of Ingomar and is a secluded, 800-metre-long sandy beach. Walking and beachcombing are possible activities there. The beach has free parking, but no lifeguards, toilets, changing rooms, or picnic tables. Wheelchair access is limited; leashed dogs are welcome. As beach conditions and available facilities can change, check local information before your trip.

Nearby Roseway Beach is a wide sandy beach suited to long walks, birdwatching, and beach exploration. A shallow freshwater stream divides it into two beach sections and connects an extensive wetland with the sea. Roseway Beach and the adjacent wetland provide habitat for various bird species, including the protected Piping Plover. Stay on designated paths.

The two beaches offer different reference points for planning: Ingomar Beach is described in specific terms, including its length, parking, and the stated limitations; Roseway Beach connects a beach and wetland that provide bird habitat. Seasonal guidelines for Ingomar Beach put the water temperature at about 16°C in July and 18°C in August. Swimming is considered a secondary activity there.
