Accommodation in Lumby
When looking for a hotel in Lumby, it helps to first decide when you’ll travel and what you’d like to do. Attractions in Lumby include the Salmon Trail and the outdoor pool. Each attraction has its own season; take this into account when planning your trip.
Salmon Trail: Routes and Guided Walks
From June to August, the Lumby Visitor Centre offers free guided walks along the Salmon Trail with student guides. The walks are 1 to 8 km long, follow flat terrain, and are accessible to wheelchairs, strollers and bicycles. Tour dates and arrangements may change; check before your visit.
The Salmon Trail runs along Bessette and Duteau Creeks. These waterways are the easternmost spawning grounds for Pacific Coho and Chinook salmon. The trail includes three routes connected by roads through downtown. This lets you combine your walk with a look at the creeks and their importance to salmon.
Outdoor Pool, Spray Park and Lumby Days
The Lumby outdoor pool is 25 m long, has five lanes and is open for public swimming. Swimming lessons and fitness programs are also available. Program times may change, so check the current schedule in advance.
The Lumby Spray Park is in Oval Park next to the outdoor pool and is open from Victoria Day to Labour Day. Check operating hours before your visit. The Lumby Days Family Festival takes place annually in early June; the exact date may vary from year to year. If you’re planning a visit around the festival, check the date in advance.
Public Market and Seasonal Offerings
