Caroline brings together figure skating mementos, curling and an annual rodeo event. There is also a mural and a museum with a nature trail nearby. When planning your trip, sports and local history, the stampede and seasonal activities offer different areas of focus.

Art and local history

Kurt’s Korner in the Kurt Browning Arena displays objects and mementos from Kurt Browning’s figure skating career. This gives visitors interested in figure skating history a specific point of interest in Caroline. Another local feature is a mural of a general store on the Cowboy Trail. Completed in 2021, it complements the sports-related attractions with a scene from local business life.

The Caroline Wheels of Time Museum is nearby, half a kilometre east of Caroline. Its historic buildings include a two-storey early log cabin, a trapper’s cabin, a one-room country school and a teacherage. The museum also has a nature trail. A visit to the area therefore offers both historic architecture and a walk in nature.

Curling and skating

The Caroline Curling Club welcomes curlers of all skill levels and has three curling sheets. The club is located in the Kurt Browning Arena; its facilities also include a lounge and a spectator area. The arena also has an ice rink. The numbers refer to different facilities: three sheets at the curling club and one ice rink in the arena.

The Caroline Curling Club is a specific point of interest for curling, while the ice rink offers another ice-sport option in the arena. If you are interested in either sport, you can take the differences between curling and skating into account when planning, without treating the two facilities as the same.

Roads and activities in the area

Two road details are useful for getting around Caroline: Highway 54 serves as the main street, while the scenic Cowboy Trail, Highway 22, runs through the town. West of Caroline and off Highway 54, Rig Street is used by off-road vehicle and ATV enthusiasts. It is another point of interest in the surrounding area.

In Caroline, the SE Rec Grounds offer two ball diamonds and beach volleyball in summer. The seasonal detail is important when planning: both activities are listed as summer offerings. High Country Berries is a family-run u-pick farm with haskaps, five varieties of raspberries and saskatoons. If you would like to include u-pick in your travel plans, check before visiting whether it is available on your dates.

Caroline Bighorn Stampede

The Caroline Bighorn Stampede takes place annually in Caroline. The 2026 edition was scheduled for May 15 to 17; those dates have passed. The 2026 programme included rodeo events such as bull riding, bareback riding, saddle bronc riding and team roping. It also featured the Bighorn Parade, live entertainment, local food and handcrafted goods. If you are planning a stay for a future edition, check the next event dates.

The Stampede combines rodeo events with a parade, entertainment and local offerings. This sets it apart from year-round local attractions such as Kurt’s Korner and the curling club: the event has a specific date, while its annual recurrence alone does not establish dates for a future edition.
