Culture and History in Middelburg

The Zeeuws Museum presents its collections in a former abbey in Middelburg. They include archaeological finds, world-famous tapestries, regional costumes, porcelain and silver. Parks and Outdoor Activities

Park Toorenvliedt is in the southwest of Middelburg and is a park surrounding an 18th-century villa. Several bunkers from the Second World War are still largely intact there. Children can take part in a treasure hunt, searching for specific letters in poems.

The Middelburg Bolwerken also combine historical significance with the character of a modern-day park. The park is more than four kilometres long in total. The Bolwerken thus complement the museum and architecture themes with a different perspective on Middelburg’s urban landscape.
