For a stay in Pederobba, you can focus on nature, cycling or cultural heritage. These include the Settolo basso wetland, the signposted Anello ciclabile del Grappa and several places of historical and cultural interest. If you are looking for a hotel, it helps to decide first which of these interests will shape your trip. The features below offer practical guidance.

Wetlands and landscape

Settolo basso is a wetland along an old bed of the Piave River. The area includes waterways, springs, upwellings and pools. These different forms of water give the place a distinctly water-focused character. For travelers interested in wetlands, Settolo basso is a distinctive natural attraction.

The surrounding area of the Oasi Garzaia di Pederobba covers 163 hectares; within it is a six-hectare central wood where herons nest. The figures refer to different scales: the larger one applies to the area, the smaller one to the wood. This distinguishes the size of the reserve from the specific nesting wood.

Hiking and military history

The Sentiero delle Trincee sui Colli di Onigo is an easy hiking trail on wooded hills south of the Piave and west of the municipal center. It passes through military installations from the former second Italian defensive line in the First World War. Its views face north over the Piave Valley and Monte Cesen. The trail therefore has clearly defined themes of landscape and military history.

Cycling route as a distinct focus

The Anello ciclabile del Grappa is a 135-kilometer signposted circular route on paved roads, which can begin or end in Pederobba. This distinguishes it from the Sentiero, described as an easy hiking trail: for the cycling loop, its length, road surface, signage and the option to start or finish in Pederobba provide useful orientation. Check the current route information before setting out, as route specifications may be updated.

Buildings and local history

The Terze Porte of the Canale Brentella is a structure built in Pederobba in 1577 to regulate the Canale Brentella. It can be reached via Via Molini, between the SR 348 Feltrina and the Piave. Its date and function make it a record of historical water management.

Villa Calvi di Coenzo Caragiani was originally a farmhouse built in the 17th century by the Venetian merchant family Groppo; it was later converted into a villa. An example of 18th-century architecture, the villa has a large portico, a collection of noble carriages and a terrace. Its history thus connects its origins as a farmhouse with its later status as a villa, while its architectural features offer a distinct link to the 18th century.

The chestnut is also associated with a historical initiative: in 1974, residents of Pederobba founded the Mostra-mercato dei Marroni del Monfenera. The aim was to promote the forest and cultural heritage associated with the chestnut, and especially the Marrone del Monfenera. The initiative’s purpose therefore explicitly encompassed both chestnuts and the cultural heritage of the forests.
