Bedollo brings together a range of themes for planning a trip: hikes, lakes, a route through villages and natural landscapes, and places of cultural and historical interest. The destinations vary in terms of activities, walking time, and historical or landscape focus.

Hiking Trails and Choosing a Route

The hike from Piazze di Bedollo to the Cascata del Lupo takes about 30 minutes. The Cascata is 36 metres high. It is also possible to drive to the route; parking before the Strente forest road is recommended. Road and parking conditions may change, so check the situation before setting out.

Route 867 passes through the villages of Bedollo and the natural landscapes surrounding them. Its first section around Lago delle Piazze is suitable for everyone, including families with children. The choice between the route to the Cascata and Route 867 depends on what matters most: an approximate walking time is given for the hike to the Cascata, while Route 867 is described in terms of its course through villages and natural landscapes, and the suitability of its first section by the lake.

Lakes and Water Routes

Lago delle Piazze is in the municipality of Bedollo. Water sports and sunbathing on the meadows are popular there. Laghetto delle Buse can be reached via a cycling and walking path that connects the three lakes of the Altopiano di Piné. This gives you a clear distinction when choosing: activities on the water are mentioned for Lago delle Piazze, while Laghetto delle Buse is notable for the path connecting the lakes for cyclists and pedestrians.

At Redebus, beside Lago delle Buse, the Kneipp path follows a circular route through pools of flowing water from the Brusago stream, about 30 centimetres deep. It operates seasonally; check whether the path is open on the date of your visit. This makes the circular route and its water pools a distinct focus for an outing.

Archaeology and Cultural History

Nine smelting furnaces were discovered at the Acqua Fredda archaeological site. The site is among the most important prehistoric smelting sites in the entire Alpine region. The Redebus protected area lies in Acqua Fredda’s natural surroundings; it is a peat bog of ecological importance, home to numerous plant species. Here, the themes of prehistoric metalworking and peatland landscape come together.

The Area Archeologica Acqua Fredda at Passo del Redebus is temporarily closed due to a disruption and is not open to visitors until further notice. Check the latest notice before your trip if you are planning to visit.

The church of Bedollo is another point of cultural and historical interest. Dedicated to Saint Oswald the King, it is among the town’s sites of historical and cultural value. On 29 November 1680, it was elevated from a chapel to a curacy of the parish of Piné; on 5 May 1919, it became a parish church. These dates mark two distinct stages in its ecclesiastical development, from curacy to parish church.
