Biscione offers a variety of diving opportunities at the Litorale di Biscione. On the beach in front of it, loggerhead turtles (Caretta caretta) lay their eggs seasonally. Past festivals, performances and a youth chess tournament have also been associated with Piazza Biscione. Culinary events in past years

Piazza Biscione has hosted various culinary events. The Festival Du Gnocculu took place there and reached its sixth edition in 2018. At the second edition of the Sagra dell’Arancina, which was also held in 2024 in Piazza Biscione in Petrosino, ten different types of arancine were offered. The two examples therefore differ both in their edition and in their specific culinary focus.

Wine culture was also among the themes of past events at the Litorale. The second edition of Vino Vivo took place there from 1 to 2 August 2025 and was dedicated to wine culture and promoting the area. Together, these events represent different culinary perspectives: a festival, the variety of arancine and an event focused on wine.

Performances and other event formats

In August 2026, the performance Cacciatori di Sogni brought together music, dance and theatre in Piazza Biscione. The IX Torneo Scacchi Sotto le Stelle offered a different focus in 2020 as part of Petrosino Estate: it was a rapid chess tournament for young people under 16 and was also held in Piazza Biscione. These examples represent different formats, from performing arts to a chess tournament for a specific age group.
