The final stretch to the mountain hut on the alpine pasture is different: the road suitable for vehicles leads to a barrier; from there, continue on foot for a few minutes along an unpaved road to the hut. The access details depend on the destination: for the oratory, they involve driving and a few steps; for the hut, a walk from the barrier.

Riserva della Piode: fish and fishing rules

The Riserva della Piode extends for a total of 7 km, of which 5 km lie within the municipality of Piode. Most of the stated length is therefore in Piode. The reserve is home to endemic marble trout and grayling with “blue fins”, as well as native brown trout. The species list thus distinguishes endemic fish from native brown trout. The rules are important for anglers: only fly fishing is permitted, and catch and release is mandatory. One trophy fish may be kept. If you plan to fish there, check the current rules beforehand; the exception for one trophy fish does not generally remove the catch-and-release requirement.
